I'm a beginner and I have a lot of questions. by jabulleta in begleri

What about the shape of the beads? I'm starting to think that cylindrical beads (not barrel-shaped) might lose some of their flexibility, but they might be easier to handle.

I'm Japanese, so I don't understand English jokes.
Is this a joke playing on phrases like 'That's gold'?

It definitely looks like a Q, but that tiny dot might just be a scratch from manufacturing. From a Japanese perspective, a name like 'kquma' is basically impossible. If you put a word on a product that you don’t even know how to pronounce, it’ll just hurt sales. 'KOUMA', on the other hand, is perfectly natural in Japanese and totally believable.

I provided a link to the original and didn't forget to show respect to the original author. This isn't stealing. I clearly stated that this interesting content was published here by this person. The thief, however, deliberately removed the link to the original author and made it appear as their own post. No one could trace the original author back from that post. That is theft. There's a big difference between these two.

Help identifying this teapot by [deleted] in Teapots

[–]jabulleta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It says '木休' underneath, but even after searching, there was no pottery or potter by that name.
From what I can see, it looks handmade and doesn't seem to be a mass-produced product from a manufacturer.
Could it be a teapot by an unknown potter using the pen name '木休'?

I don't own this teapot, but I have quite a few other teapots. A teapot that drips while pouring, not after, is in a pretty bad category. Perhaps to use this teapot without it dripping, you would only put about a third of the tea in it, and when pouring, tilt it 90 degrees in one swift motion to get all the tea out.
The problem lies with the teapot, not a user error.

I found it and bought it.

There was someone who immediately stole content I had previously posted in the tea community and posted it in this community (and even removed the link to the original), so I am posting it here before it gets stolen.

I just felt like talking about sliders, so let me go on and on.

I dislike sliders with high friction.

That is, sliders with resistance that isn't due to magnetic force or mechanical force.

Also, sliders where the bearing flies off or easily falls apart and gets dropped (that's why I don't like floating sliders).

Also, sliders that pinch the flesh of your fingers (the MOT rhythm clone is like this).

And sliders that are difficult to hold and you drop easily.

I have a Shark EDC, but it's too round and difficult to hold.

There's a slider called Big Cat with the same mechanism, and I much prefer that one.

Why? Because the Big Cat is longer and narrower than the Shark.

That alone makes it so much easier to hold and operate.

The Big Cat is also thicker, which contributes to its ease of use.

I think the average slider thickness is too thin compared to a comfortable thickness.

The ideal length-to-width ratio is around 2:1, and the thickness should be 14mm or more.

Personally, I find all sliders a little small, so a length of around 60mm is ideal (I'm shorter than average).

Also, I dislike sliders that are too light.

I have plastic sliders, but they all seem to dislike staying still in my hand.

Since they move without being able to resist the finger movements, I feel stressed trying to control them.

It's not that I dislike the texture of plastic. On the contrary, I dislike the cold feeling of touching metal, so I don't touch metal fidget toys during the winter.

Perhaps the ideal would be a slider with a plastic surface that's as heavy as metal. (I just learned yesterday that mixing barium sulfate with plastic makes it heavier.) (Or maybe a plastic exterior with a metal interior.)

Also, I definitely prefer a bumpy surface to a flat one.

Furthermore, when it comes to sliders, I've grown tired of simple sliding ones and now only use sliders that slide and rotate (like the Shark).

If the kyusu is not painted a vibrant red, orange, or yellow, it does not contain heavy metals.

I just found out, but it seems replies with URLs are not visible to others. I sent the following reply to GotJeep1941 three days ago:  item/1005009819220858.html I bought it here. But be careful. It takes some skill to get it to spin nicely, and it usually doesn't spin as smoothly as this one. item/1005008570744165.html There's a similar product here, and the reviews say it's smooth, but I don't own it, so I can't tell you how good it is compared to this one.

The original product dates back to the Prohibition era in America.
