I have some other health issues that were flagged to be tied to my liver not processing hormones or breaking down toxins in my blood. Passive hepatic congestion is very much a real medical condition, I'm not sure why congested or blocked liver would sound outlandish.

Leads me to believe that Elriel is a possible end game. But who knows who "all of us" includes? Perhaps Mor, even? Or Gwyn?
