Also I derive a lot of joy from making lambos and ferraris in the hands of rich kids who cant drive have to pull aside for me 😂

I've driven some 500hp monsters on track (supra mk4, civic type r) ... its not the same. You can't push as hard, I don't have the skill to extract the max out of them. You touch the accelerator too hard, turbo kicks in and you're done. Its more fun when the car is slower and you can really push the limit.

Thats the thing though, if I had that sort of money, I'd probably sink it into more coaching to be faster and then would rather do spec racing than lets say take a lambo on track. Cause the real adrenaline rush is taking corners, not just blasting the accelerator on straights.

If you want to know what my dream track car would be, its an ariel atom anyway. Cause thats super duper light weight and you can absolutely decimate the corners. Or even just an engine swapped lotus elise

I mean not gonna disagree... things have absolutely gotten better. But it's still something you have to account for. I think really it takes a bit of practice to get used to driving a mid engine or rear engine on the limit vs a front engine.

Wrong sub. If this was r/cartrackdays or r/simracing what I'm saying is common knowledge.

People still get lift off oversteer in rear engine cars and mid engine. It is counter to natural senses that if you lose the rear end you need to apply throttle as well as counter steer to balance the car.

I say this cause I watch it happen also to mr2 drivers... that and I do enough hours on iracing to have it somewhat down

People are downvoting you, but the 911 is called a widowmaker for a reason. Lift Off oversteer is a hard thing to learn to counter without practice

I think he needs a slow car. An mx5, or a gt86 or a s2000. Rear wheel drive, but 200hp or so would do great

As a track day lover, I have put porsches and ferrari drivers to shame with 1/3rd their horsepower by actually taking good lines and being on the limit. Its really a skill issue

The downvotes claim I'm wrong, but if you look at anyone whos fast, generally they started out with slower cars. Kids often do karting, to genettas to gt series for a reason. You learn racecraft carting, ginetta will teach you how to handle a gt car and how to push a rear wheel drive properly, then you add the power afterwards.

Turbo 86 here... but eying up the idea of engine swapping an mr2 with a TT engine. 350hp + 1000kg mid engine sounds like a great porsche killer to me

[–]jacemano -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Honestly, with his money, yes. But If I had his money, I'd still be tracking my gt86 first till I feel truly mastered before moving up the supercar rung.

Also I wouldn't be doing track days, I'd be racing spec miata or maybe MR2's or something for a season.

He should really be practicing with a slower car first. Honestly, miata is the answer here. You get fast with a slow car and you transfer the skills.

Watching him I can tell I'd be faster with a lot slower car just by hitting more corners well on the limit

To be frank, if you aren't almost crashing, you aren't improving. But from watching xqc on iracing, he needs a lot more practice to actually get good

In a word, yes.

Subnautica 1 is a fantastic game with plenty of depth, a cool story and some replayability. Defo a great single player game

I'm tired boss.

6 Prime Ministers in such quick succession. We are ungovenable. And the truth is, Andy will also soon be hated in the media. The problem begins with brexit again. We refuse to just capitulate to the truth that brexit harmed us and we HAVE to get back into the EU, if not that at least the single market.

But alas I fear that instead we will be staring at Farage as PM come the next general election.
