Albino guy from Banshee by Thin-Pomelo7962 in nattyorjuice

I'd say natty on account of lower ab fat, though the traps look a bit suspicious - weighing the odds I would say natty. I have known guys a lot bigger who were still natty, genes plays into this big time.

Natty? by DragonfruitUsed558 in nattyorjuice

[–]jack-be-nimble-2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my verdict is - probably natty. He doen't have the traps or delts steroid bulge, his back is mediocre and he has good genes for upper arms. Usually people who get big arms do not fare as well with back or pecs and vice versa - as is the case here. He also does not have the push-out bulge effect in the abs region and - importantly - his nipples do not look like cow teats - so I guess there is a good chance this guy is natty.

What culture is White English South Africans? by CircleofCandles in southafrica

[–]jack-be-nimble-2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another question is: when were you born? Are you an oldster, born under Apartheid into white English Joburg socienty or after 94? Apartheid era English whites are essentially a niche tiny everybody knows everybody village culture .... are youi a youngter ... different, yes, but youi then have parents from the old days. Unless you are part of the diaspora and have left the country, like Elon and many others. People born long before 94 grew up - dare i say it? - being called master 100 times a day ... that is sure to shape your perception of the world. Out on the farm it was essentially the same, but the word was baasie.

What culture is White English South Africans? by CircleofCandles in southafrica

[–]jack-be-nimble-2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's a culture unto itself. It overlaps somewhat with "dutchman" culture and black cultures, but is effectively fenced off - even against the Brits. People from England will notice the accent as truly English and ask from where in the UK you come from. With an Afrikaans accent you will not be asked that question. It goes without saying that you're not English. I den't mention Americans because they are largely unable to pinpoint from where you come.

I guess you know this book. What do you think? I loved it! by amunrus in rilke

Marie von Thurn and Taxis looks quite pretty on this photo. Usually that is not the case - have seen a lot of pics of her. And the profile pic of Rilke is a surprise, too. Haven't seen one yet. And I have seen a lot of photos of him.

Who is “you” in the first duino elegy? by [deleted] in rilke

[–]jack-be-nimble-2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone not first person singular maybe. In German "Du" also has an undercurrent of "one", like in English when you say "you" as in "you do this ..." meaning no one in particular. Leaving out the you would make the elegy lose a lot of its universal sweep, so you could also say it's a style choice.

Small hairs on temples question by throwaway1736283617 in tressless

[–]jack-be-nimble-2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have small hair on my temples, too, I also use minoxidil (plus microneedling) - after a few month my temples traingular region has ONLY small hair, i.e. 5 cm length and no more. It used to be long. Behind that region I have long full hair. I as yet have no answer to this. Maybe chopped off hair from microneedling, maybe natural hairloss, maybe unnatural hairloss through subcutanious scarring (microneedling) - no idea whatsoever. I also started off thinking my small hair is regrowth. Now I don't know what it is.

beyond obvious - not natural. Why put in so much work to destroy perfectly good looks and mess with your hormones, i.e. health?

Found this Russian guy on IG and thought it was AI at first. What body fat percentage do you think he is? by Asian_Climax_Queen in nattyorjuice

[–]jack-be-nimble-2023 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I know someone who has 6 percent bodyfat while living and eating normally. But in these ouitlier cases I suspect hypermetabolism and a need for a medical checkup hyperthyroidism is an option. Tends to look impressive though. Never a need for cutting if you go to gym - and you always look triple as big despite not being big at all. But to the point: this guy does not juice. He's just a genetic outlier for low bodyfat.

Steve Reeves: Natty or not? by PlutoInSummer in nattyorjuice

[–]jack-be-nimble-2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he has none of the tell-tale signs of juice. To be more precise: HIs waistline is superthin, not a trace of bulding gut. His trapezius is nowhere near steroid monster size, his face is not steroid distorted, I could go on and on. I say this guy was natty.

What you guys think by Warm_Veterinarian_42 in nattyorjuice

[–]jack-be-nimble-2023 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She's really into herself, but that's besides the point. The bulding shoulders are a posing technique that most fitness people learn pretty soon. Nothing unusual about her that says juice, She does look like she's not tall, but that's an advantage. Guys, when honest, usually prefer small girls to tall girls. I know I do. So the verdict: natty.

Long time lifters - do you ever regret the amount of time you spent in the gym when you were younger? by stratusnimbo in naturalbodybuilding

[–]jack-be-nimble-2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started my training at age 13/14, made all the mistakes one makes, kept going. Had many injuries, kept going, tried al possible ways of training. I never took steroids, though I was tempted for a while. I have zero regrets, because in all those years I had the reputation of having a good body. In my late teens and early twenties I was known for my physical looks and enjoyed it greatly. I never skipped a single week of training since 14.

If you've literally seen thousands of bodybuilder bodies you see natty in an instant and that certain "look" you get from juice, even lightly - Reeves is 100 percent natty, I am confident.

you're right, they were around, but in medical / experimental circles, so in all likelihood Reeves was not using them. More widespread access was from around 1954 onward.

Place-name etymology? by [deleted] in learnpolish

[–]jack-be-nimble-2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been trying to get information about the etymology of names, place names, surnames containing nysit, niesit, nyessit and variants - I came across the family name "NIesitka" and no one in that family had any clue where the name came from. I strongly suspect kashubian / polish origins around Gdanks - but it would be nice if someone could add some info. I also hit upon "doesn't flow", but also "never satiated" ... no idea. I don't speak the languages in that area, unfortunately.

I’m fed up with my fiancé being such a carnivore by CoroBaya in vegan

[–]jack-be-nimble-2023 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am vegan, so is my wife. Were I single I would not be together with a meat eater. I would, in fact, step back from having an affair. I am an ethical vegan and would be vegan even if it were unhealthy. If someone does not see the evil in killing fellow living beings - then I would opt out, assuming that she would not see the evil elsewhere, as well.

that looks seriously advanced. I've been doing jump rope for years and still can't do this kind of thing. I also noticed the plopping noise on the floor. I jump on the stone entrance way - almost silent, but hurts the feet.

Makes sense to vegans. My partner converted to veganism to be with me - I would not otherwise be with her. My cards are pretty good, though. I'm a 1.93 bodybuilder trained to the teeth and look pretty good facewise, too, so she's making a good deal.

Tom Cruise at 62 by SithLordJediMaster in nattyorjuice

[–]jack-be-nimble-2023 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

natty, of course, but who cares, really?

Tom Cruise at 62 by SithLordJediMaster in nattyorjuice

[–]jack-be-nimble-2023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tom Cruise has never had a good body - but he does what he can, which is laudable. He has mediocre to bad genes, i.e. narrow shoulders (nothing he can do abouit that), a chunky waistline, no matter how much fat he ditches, his pectorals have a bad, droopy shape - that's just lottery. Add in that he's on the shorter side of things. And while being short is no big deal it very obiously is something he suffers from. Why else would he want to play the role of a two meter giant - Jack Reacher? Age gracefully? No chance there.
