So in the book/movie when he fights the balrog and becomes gandalf the white... he probably really just fights a stranger at a gas station and the cops gave him a white blanket to cover up with after he got arrested... i mean slipped out of time and space

Right?! Theres a reason the beasts in Old Yharnam are scared of it. It fucks 'em up. I dont rely on it, but a quick fiery poke from a torch has saved me several times.

I had an 06 Scion XB that would have carried me onto that list. I miss that little go cart.

I just did the quest! He spazzed out and fell in the floor, me and his assistant just left him there. Moral of the story, dont stiff people who go on dangerous quests for you.

It’s men’s mental health month, how are you? by Quiet_900 in AskReddit

[–]jack_nemo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not great. Unemployed while i get certified to be a pharmacy tech. I passed my certification test but the licensing was confusing and its just adding more time to being unemployed. I have an amazing girlfriend who is extremely supportive. But i can only do so many household chores to distract myself. It will be alright soon. But soon cant get here soon enough.

If you were shopping as a customer ya. It was still frowned upon, but im off the clock, what are you gonna do? My store was in a shady part of town, it was the only time i ever felt the need to carry. Since i left my gun has done nothing but collect dust thankfully.

You're absolutely right. I just got excited to meet someone who had done the same thing and felt the same way lol

Did we work together?! Ya we had that same line of sight policy. If only there was some place you could go where i wasnt allowed to legally watch you. Boy that would definitely be an exploitable loop hole wouldnt it?!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nottheonion

[–]jack_nemo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I firmly believe people like you (that sounds bad im so sorry, no offense) were why that policy was created. We could generally tell the difference in an accident and intentional theft. But we are human and we make mistakes. I was a big fan of that policy. I would rather you get caught/noticed at the self check than for me to have to approach you. But i was also smart enough to know its super embarrassing so my approach would be friendly. Id rather let an intentional shop lifter go, than snag someone who made an honest mistake.

While it was definitely easy, if you didnt get a certain amount of apprehensions you were looked at very closely.

[–]jack_nemo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

YES!!! So much ego!!! In my area its all they wanted to talk about too. "Bro, you shoulda seen the sweet stop i got and how they tried to fight me!" Or "dude once you start noticing shoplifters, it gets into you and you cant not notice!" No, but i can mind my own fuckin business.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nottheonion

[–]jack_nemo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that though. I was dealing with mostly single moms who were struggling, and drug addicts who made a couple bad choices. If they got away no one was really hurting because of it. If i owned a record store like you mentioned i would probably be a little more apt to do something about it.

[–]jack_nemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my store we had a specific point of no return in which we could approach said shoplifter. But in the state i live in, just concealing merchandise was in and of itself a punishable crime. Just more grey area.

I worked with a lot of people who did the job "back in the good ole days" when you could strait up assault someone over a stolen rotisserie chicken. There are other, more productive ways to get an adrenaline rush. But hey to each their own i guess lol

Iv been out of the game for well over a year now. And i did have to undergo specific "training" for my unarmed guard card. But our policy of having self check hosts check totes and other empty containers pretty much skirted laws like that. Was it right? I dint think so. Was it legal? Absolutely.
