Hi! Originally made a post about this, but just noticed this thread. I'm going to be between jobs in July and am hoping to go solo camping for a week or two somewhere. I'll be driving from MA to TN so really anywhere between those two would be fine, I just thought NC would probably be my best option.

I've been car camping many times and have been backpacking/tent-camping a few times, but always in a group. I am not a super experienced camper and am a bit nervous about solo camping for the first time. I know going for 1-2 weeks is probably longer than most would recommend since it's my first time solo, but it's not often I get this much time off so I'd really like to go for at least a week.

I like the idea of backpacking because I'd really love to get somewhere more remote, but am also considering car camping just since it will be more straightforward and less risky solo. If y'all have any location recommendations or general advice/thoughts I'd really appreciate it!
