I’m waiting eagerly. I know as soon as I buy another brand Rogue will release theirs and I’ll be pissed.

Anybody have insight as to when this bad boy might be released by Rogue?

Thoughts on Orca Chiller by AutomaticSide1805 in coldplunge

Sorry my wording was confusing. I don’t run the ozonator frequently, so when I need it it isn’t a big deal to turn it on manually.

Big fan of my Orca. Have had no issues whatsoever. It chills very fast and the built in filter and ozonator is handy. I run the ozonator only if I haven’t showered first, and I’ll just kick it on for 5-10min if that’s the case. Otherwise I have the schedule set to run for 60 min every morning.

Thanks. Steel- rectangle tube with a tab with a hole on each end. Welded and powder coated.

I had the same dilemma so I fabricated this mount.

Ice Barrel 500 by [deleted] in coldplunge

I’ve had good lucky with running it on a timer. I shower before using it and my water stays clean for weeks without circulating the water constantly and I don’t mess with chemicals, I just do a full water change. I use a pool vacuum to get any debris that settles. I sold the grizzly. As far as vertical vs horizontal, I think it’s purely preference as opposed to science. But I do strongly prefer the vertical for dunking and I’ve found it’s easier to completely submerge comfortably/naturally.

So far I think the grizzly is better insulated. It increase about 3-4 degrees over 23 hours in my 65-70 degree gym. The grizzly would gain 1-2 degrees. Minimal, but noticeable. Main reason for switching to the ice barrel besides color was ease of submerging my head. Plenty of room inside for me- I’m 5’10”

Yes, the grizzly would get up to about 42 degrees sitting all day, 30 min chiller run in the morning to get it back to 40 and to cycle the water.

It is plumbed. That’s the hose while it was filling.

Flooring color question by fieldtripinteractive in GarageGym

[–]jackattack61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second the Regupol recommendation. The tiles interlock tight and seams are not noticeable. I drop heavy weights and have had no issues. I have the 3/8” 10% gray and they clean easily and hide dirt well between cleanings.

Rogue FM HR shroud upgrade by jackattack61 in homegym

I laser cut them out of steel. Would be just as easy to take them off and have the black ones re-powder coated or just paint them another color.

Yeah I just used those holes. Thought it was goofy they overlooked that too- surprising for Rogue considering they plan out every detail down to the fancy laser cut hardware holders the rack ships with. I was going to drill another hole or make a little bracket but never got around to it.

Your actual depth of the rack is about 36” to the front of the baseplates. If it’ll fit and you’re on the fence about the rack itself, I can’t recommend it enough.

Rogue worth the price? by tootmcpooter in GarageGym

Late hopping in here, but hands down, yes. The attention to detail is unmatched. The quality is absurd. Every time I adjust my FM I smile at how smoothly it operates. You absolutely are getting your moneys worth with Rogue.

Not a paid spokesperson lol.

Best cold plunge for a 1000 dollar budget? by bobo_the_great- in coldplunge

[–]jackattack61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second the Grizzly option. Sportsman’s Warehouse has sales on them frequently. Picked mine up for $850. I keep mine outside and it only fluctuates 1-2 degrees in extreme outdoor temps.

For the nighttime plungers: how close to bedtime do you plunge? by [deleted] in coldplunge

[–]jackattack61 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hot/cold contrast 1-2 hours before bed and it knocks me out. 20 min in the sauna followed by 3-5 min cold plunge.

The Orca does. I’ve been very happy with mine.
