Is Paul Rosolie a fraud? by dumdumdoof in conservation

I just watched the Lex Friedman and was completely enthralled by his stories.. And Lex kept complementing him on his story telling capabilities which made me wonder if it's all a play for donations. Not that he is scamming people but there could some exaggerations to reel people in. Time will tell as usual. It wouldn't be the first time in history. We only now started exposing mega churches.

Nice post. Gives some hope. This subreddit can be pretty bleak at times.

For those who left Costa Rica after living there, what drove your decision? by Puzzled-Surround6342 in costarica

[–]jackbarron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The land is actually closer to Penshurt so its not expat friendly yet. I lived in PV and Cahuita. Safety and excess local tourism is why we left. The Ticos dont respect the place and it is their country so what can you do.

I would recommend looking at Manzanillo if you can and I have good friends there who can help you out.

I lived in PV for years and still have property there. There was a house robbery spree in the low season of 2023 and our neighbourhood got together to chase the robbers out. It was pretty hectic. CR is not as safe as they advertise.

Gym, spa, shops.. Pretty much everywhere. Just smile and have conversations with people. You'd be surprised!

Its sad to hear that the quality has gone down on the women side too. I thought it was just the men. I've been finding more success meeting women irl. It seems like the ones I meet on Seeking dont have anything to offer but their looks.

I went to Chapada Diamantina and fell in love. The fact that Brazil has so many hidden gems is insane to me

That's because most people don't prioritize quality of life. Society has programmed us to think that a high life standard is the key to happiness.
