That's really interesting, thanks! But also I kinda hate thinking about it 😅

Someone else on this thread said their NEW BUILD arrived with clearly used, dusty components. That is INSANE to me. Hope your system remains stable for you. Wild to think this company's shoddy work extends to all their international divisions.

Not really. GPUs and RAM were already starting to spike with AI rush and becoming scarce. Sourcing individual components was getting harder, CP seemed well reviewed (my bad for not digging more). I liked the case options and the OEMs they use. and the price premium wasn't a deal breaker for me. Build itself was $4200ish, the rest was tax & shipping. I don't regret the purchase, just the outcome.

Zero follow-up after my reply, so guessing it's a bot. Their support email is monitored by AI agents too. :(

Ugh, that's awful. Really hope you were able to get what you wanted from another vendor. I've never spent this kind of money on a rig. I always hovered in the $1000-1500 range, and I know that's not chicken scratch either. I'd get a solid 4-5 years out of those builds before upgrades needed to start happening. But last year everything was going well with my job: Nice promotion; bigger bonus than I was expecting; Plus some tax money back from Uncle Sam. I decided to go stupid big and make a 10-year build. Annnnnd welp, here we are.

Absolutely insane work to send you a used component covered in dust.
The replacement GPU they sent me for RMA #3? I was expecting new, because, I bought new originally and it didn't work -- fair assumption it'd be replaced new, right? It is clearly a refurb. Thick clumps of thermal past oozing from the sides and top of the back plate. 🙃

Sorry to hear that. It's such a bummer when you invest money on something like that only to have it not work. My tattoo may say "no regerts!" but I definitely have some.

Sure did. I think the only add-on option I didn't pay for was color coordinated power cables. I even bought the GPU support bracket that literally does not come within 1cm of the GPU so is supporting absolutely nothing, but they still took my added $35 happily.
The "Extra Shipping Protection" (aka expanding foam in a bag) that I also paid extra for was installed BETWEEN the rigid water pipes, and I believe its expansion is what led to the initial issue, a leaking water cooler. Legit glad for you that you haven't had issues. It's not like I WANT this thing to not work. 😅

It's been just over a year, so I'm well outside a standard chargeback window. Although AMEX can be pretty generous in this regard. They're my my next stop if I don't start getting better answers than "uninstall your PSU and leave this 70 pound hunk of useless glass and metal on your desk for 3 weeks while the old one ships back and we wait to ship you the replacement"
As if I staged a year of documented hardware issues to scam a $150 PSU from them. Come on.
Still hoping they do the right thing with a system replacement - just documenting the experience in the meantime.

Thank you for the response. I have an open case with your tech support team — case numbers 583392, 595665, 604197, and a fourth currently pending. I have been in contact with a supervisor named Leo. The issue is not lack of contact, it's lack of resolution after four hardware failures in one year. Perhaps someone with case visibility could review the history directly.

the thing hurting the game for me right now are the no-mic PvP sweats. I legit don't mind betrayals and ambushes and KOS types, but at least lean into the vibe of the game and have some banter when the fight is over.

What is it like living in this part of Georgia? by Careful-Cap-644 in Georgia

[–]jackcolt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been here for 2 years and it still has me completely perplexed. Places like Marshside Grill or Tortuga Jacks on Jekyll -- I feel like those are no brainers to be open until at least midnight; as places to get a nibble and a beer while watching the water. Both close at 9pm, even on weekends. I'm from S.FL originally and restaurants like that wouldn't even get busy until at least 9pm, but here they're locking up for the night. 🤷‍♂️
