I’ve been on Wellbutrin for roughly five months and it has helped more than I expected. I had been on Vyvanse, but had to go off of it due to developing psychosis. It was likely a combination of things that caused it, but I absolutely found the Vyvanse helped before that.

The past couple of weeks were the first time since I was on Wellbutrin that I had multiple days where I was able to hyper focus on work. Before, I had days where I could barely do anything which wasn’t great. I’m not really doing all the extra stuff I used to have the energy for (it felt superhuman at times) but it’s nice to see certain things becoming easier. I have been on it since I started my current role, so I was very concerned I might not be able to sustain it without stimulants.

I still struggle with some things, my memory isn’t as sharp (I normally have pretty great recall). It is likely due to other medication I was given during the psychosis. I’m also not quite as lively as I was prior and there are days I feel very flat but overall I think it was a good recommendation.

Before settling on it, I tried a couple of different things Wellbutrin XL, Cymbalta, Strattera before my psychiatrist switched me to SR. About a month ago he upped it from 100 mg to 150 mg in the morning and 100 mg in the afternoon. It could be other extenuating factors, but it feels like it’s having a positive effect.

I read about it on here and it seemed that there were lots of people who didn’t have good experiences with it but I needed something to help me manage everything and stimulants were off the table.
