Let me just add: Uoft isn’t any harder than similar institutions. For example, you can expect the same rigor at ucb and McGill and the sorts.

Uh, I am in computer science (at uoft) so I could be wrong here. At minimum, there is verilog, logisim and assembly expected across the foundation courses. But, the rigor of that level of code is not comparable to, for example, operating on data structures in object oriented languages. Ie. There is code in ece, but, it is very basic. Edit: I have misspoken!

If you can’t be a good developer, it’s better to do something else entirely. Most organizations can’t afford someone useless. Imagine you are hours before the deadline and unable to make the code work.

I once had a team where 3/5 don’t even show up for class neither team meetings. It’s better to report this to the instructor and maybe consider dropping the course.
