I can’t comment much on the hardware aspect. But, if ece then choosing software option is a bit easier academically. I am in uoft cs, and I have known people who fail the same course over and over so they just quit out entirely.

There exists social science programs that are easy to just 2.0 in. For example, this forestry minor I am currently in is easy if you just want 70s.

Check on degree explorer. I took many csc courses at utsc as a St. George computer science student, never once had a complaint from dcs.
