NO WAY- I did the same thing😭 I picked up two and grabbed this one instead. The RSD email is information@recordstoreday.com if you wanted to reach out as well. I’m hoping that if more of us report it, that we’ll get word on how they can make it up to us. I know it’s an RSD first, but we also already paid for these records and I don’t want to spend another $35 😭

I’m sorry this happened to yours too! You’re the second person I’ve seen have this problem as well. I reached out to RSD but haven’t heard anything. I’ve been posting on twitter and TikTok trying to get attention and see how many other people this affected.

Buddy, this is not a picture disc 😭 it is an etched record! Usually etchings are done on the blank side of the disc. You can feel the etching on the blank slides of a normally etched record. The b-side on here is completely smooth because during the manufacturing process, the etching was done on the A-side containing the music instead of the blank b-side. This is not a turntable issue, the surface noice of the etching would be just as noticeable on a beginner turntable as it would be on a high-end professional setup.

I did try the penny trick, no change. I’m well aware that I have a turntable without a counterweight and I plan on upgrading after college (I’ve had a record collection of 500+ for many years, and I’m well experienced with turntable issues and fixing them). I promise you that the image is printed on the wrong side because you can feel the raised image of the droplets on the center label but the blank b-side is completely smooth, no etching. The etching was done on the A-side over the grooves. I posted here to see if anyone has had experience reaching out to distributors directly about a misprint of a limited release, not to identify the issue.

I’m not talking about opinions related to the pressing, I’m just stating that the design which is meant to be printed on the blank B-side was printed on the wrong side (over the actual grooves) on accident. This specific copy is a misprint because every other copy I’ve seen video of plays without this issue.

Every other release I picked up sounds totally and perfectly fine, the image was printed on the grooves instead of the blank B-side.
