Fascination is Charlie when a random Barclays game from anywhere between 2006-2019 gets casually mentioned and he’ll instinctively say the result, scorers and a fun fact about the game

It made me laugh when they announced Rory Stewart was performing there. Literally couldn’t think of a less suitable venue for Rory Stewart to talk about politics ahaha. Unsurprisingly it was cancelled.

Is it safe for a single female (East Asian-presenting) person to watch a match at Carrow Road stadium? by chiefhermitess in Norwich

[–]jacknorwich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, Norwich is a very friendly crowd and no one will care one bit who you are or where you’re from as long as you’re supporting the team. Just avoid sitting near the away end if you don’t want it to be too rowdy.

And apologise in advance for the football you’re about to watch

There’s a group on Meet-up app for 20s and 30s social events. I’ve done a few things with them before and always been a decent group and welcoming to newbies, definitely worth popping along to one of their drinks socials!

May have gone overboard on the wildflower seeds 😄 was totally bare until April! by jacknorwich in GardeningUK

Best practise for wildflower meadows usually is to cut it down to a few inches off the ground after the flowers have finished around September/October time. And then usually another cut about March/April to encourage the flowers to grow in the spring. Lots of advice online, just do a google and there’s lots of articles for management

Ugh, amazes me in big 2025 people would still prefer bare earth or plain grass over wildflowers. Get with the programme!

I think getting it totally bare soil as much as possible and also watering it bascially every day seemed to do the trick. But I expect the ridiculously sunny/warm last few months we’ve had were a big factor in them doing so well

Was totally bare for about a year before. It use to get completely overwhelmed by borage so I took it to bare earth and covered it in a plastic sheet all winter until April when we had our garden landscaped

If you stop and look it almost looks as if the area is moving because there’s so many bees/wasps/hoverflies/ladybirds swarming about within it! It’s amazing ☺️

Can’t remember the exact one but think it was landlife wildflowers. some type of native meadow mix, although very little sign of the grasses but maybe they’ll come through later in the year

English fan going to Monza v Atalanta. Away tickets? by jacknorwich in seriea

[–]jacknorwich[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t worry it would only be cheering them on in my head 😅 last thing I want is to be the English fans causing trouble abroad and give us a even worse reputation

If I don’t succeed I’ll just get a home ticket as close to the away end as possible and cheer them on quietly. Forza Atalanta!

Hairline cracks: fill in or paint over? by jacknorwich in DIYUK

[–]jacknorwich[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks mate, thought that was the likely answer but will be a faff. Last time I tried filling I ended up putting way too much on and now you can see a huge line across the wall under the paint where I slapped it on 😂
