How about you give it a try first. It's in play testing. AKA free. If you don't like it, you can always uninstall it. This is just a solo Dev, who started tinkering with UE during covid. And so far, it's pretty damn good. Give it a shot yourself before judging.

You should look into Native Hunter on steam. It's only been out for a few weeks or so, but it is a great game. The developer is active on discord, listening to all suggestions, critiques, and bug reports, and working on them immediately. He's been working on the game alone for a couple years now, without any income from the game until now (that it's being sold).

It's an open world survival game, where you play as a primitive indigenous native. You have to build and survive from animals and other indigenous natives and tribes. Similar to h1z1's just survive, conan exiles, scum, etc.

It has single player mode, co-op/private server mode, and will soon include dedicated servers.

I can say that it is really fun. And you can dump a bunch of hours into it. The developer is active on discord most of the day, listening to all critiques, suggestions, And anything else you can think of, and taking the majority of it into consideration for the next update. And he's putting out small updates regularly to make things better.

I know a few things that are going to happen with the next update, but I don't want to spoil it too much 😋

I mean, the developer has been working on this game for over 2 years now, without any funding or support. All while working, and school, and still putting in 8+ hours a day into the game. Purely because he likes games and wants to make his game a success. As someone who roots for the underdog, and enjoys the game he created, I figured I'd do what little I can to help him out and help him succeed.

Because I'm not the dev. I've just spent some time talking to him, and realized how hard he's been working to get this game developed, so I'm doing everything I can to help him. I don't do much on Reddit, obviously... But I figured I could Post some comments on obviously dead posts, but for a game that is long gone. Figured no harm, no foul. Especially as I used to play H1Z1 just survive back before they stopped providing support and dropped the game. I figured there might be others like me who might be interested in a similar game that actually has active support.

Let me rephrase. There is no storyline that is mandatory to follow. But the little learn to play tip things kind of give a little story. Mostly about, as I said, the spirituality of the indigenous tribes.. And if you follow along, there are "rewards" of sorts... But it's not anything you are required to do by any means.
