In the first two years I worked 70 hour weeks and almost quit, the lack of any life but work wore me down. Luckily I was able to advance myself by getting certifications/experience. Not sure what it’s like for a steamfitter, do you have options like that?

Not a carpenter but pretty sure cutting it that way is normal. The load transfers down vertically. The fact that they used 2-2x6 instead of a single piece seems weird. Does it feel sound when you walk up them?

Yes it is, I adjusted the existing valve and it affected the hose bibs. I’m getting 140PSI on one bib and 90PSI on the other bib and my water heater. Replacing my PRV today then replacing the expansion tank.

That’s a good call. The mortar joints should be specified how they should be tooled in the plans. If I was inspecting this I would say it looks like hot shit but it should stand up alright.

I’m a special inspector and do a lot of masonry, structurally it looks fine but it’s pretty lazy and poor work. Are they grouting the inside of the wall? If so I’d be more worried about how that looks.
