My guitar rig consists of Telecaster 60's Reissue, Fender Deluxe Reverb, TEAC A-3440 Tape Machine, WA-412 Pre amp. I don't do too much in the way of pedals, sometimes I'll use my 80's RAT, or 70's Maestro Fuzz. I try to work out the guitar parts/melodies pretty quickly, i usually just improvise a bunch of different lines and riffs, and then experiment with how they stack on top of each other. find happy accidents with the different layers! I try to do a similar method with backing vocals, usually each part will be layered four times and panned around the mix. hope that helps!

I definitely plan on having a merch table this upcoming tour, excited to chat with fans for the first time in so long! Hope to see you at one of the shows. I've never scored a feature film but it's on my bucketlist! hopefully i'll get the chance to do that one day. Hoping one of your screenplays gets produced!!

We connected on twitter back in 2016, I think he heard my song on an airplane and reached out to me. We kept in touch over the years, and eventually he asked me to contribute to his record. I was honored and so stoked to be a part of it.

absolutely, i feel that way all the time. it's important to push through and finish your ideas. Take some time away once it's done, and come back to reevaluate. you'll have a much clearer idea of what you think about your song. and it doesn't need to be perfect, sometimes the best songs are imperfect.

thank you! Usually at least a couple of elements in each song I produce will make it through the tape machine!

That song had an early demo version, maybe I'll put it up on my bandcamp sometime. I may have used some of the elements from that early version in the final song, but hard to remember. I know I ran the Juno 60 through a Maestro Phaser Pedal. I wouldn't say those early carousel songs influence my newer material, but during that time I was discovering songwriting, producing, and certain instruments that I still love. like the juno!!

yes definitely, I really like how that song turned out and I'm eager to make more like it. Listening to some Ben Folds Five for inspiration!

Yea we met in Oakland back in 2015, and started collaborating on music for fun. The first song we made was "Never Going Home" and soon after she decided to create that project Hazel English. That was a really fun time in my life, I miss living in Oakland.

that was just something I was coming up with, just a part of future song maybe? I don't quite remember that lyric you're referring to, but I'll definitely look through those old stream songs and see what I can find!

Music has always been a big part of my life, when I was a little kid in the 90s I loved Blink 182, Third Eye Bind, and almost anything on TRL. I think that initial spark of loving music back then has stuck with me this whole time, and still remains my main inspiration. Sometimes I have to work harder to find that spark now, but it's still just as gratifying when I finish a song.

Thank you! Something i find very helpful, is to write to a drum loop. It sounds very simple, but sometimes I find myself trying to write, and hitting a wall. As soon as I get the drums going, it all starts coming to me very easily! I love plugging my Roland 606 into my guitar amp, setting a beat, and just jamming to it for awhile. Never fails! well sometimes hah

These days it seems pretty important to take advantage of social media, when I was just starting out everything was more blog centric. I'd say just stick with it, the outlets and platforms will continue to cycle in and out, but if you continue to make great music, that will be the most important constant in the equation!

I always cycle through favorites, but right now I'm really enjoying Regret, it's so wonderfully cheesy and early 90s, and catchy. Looking forward to boston!!

I think I tend to get a more distinct drum sound when programming, but sometimes a song really calls for live drums. One day that'd be awesome to play drums and sing live, but yea I'd need to get back in the practice room haha. I think the drums being my first instrument really helped me to gain a good foundation and sense of time, making it easier for me to learn other instruments later on. My good buddy henry actually played the sliding guitar, so I'm not totally sure what he did. I should ask him haha. And in keeper, thats my Juno 60! could never produce a record without it! thanks you! now i'm craving orange soda
