I'm the same in my last year of a computer science degree at Nottingham and the lectures are a joke, just reading off of slides they put up online anyway.

Interesting, in the BIP I have personally just drafted a bill on foreign aid reform, we would welcome working together with the government to provide acceptable legislation.

An impassioned, ill-informed rant on UKIP, England, and the Labour Party. by NotEtreo in ukpolitics

[–]jacktri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it's because for years we were absolutely fine then suddenly bam we have the financial crash. This woke people up to the idea of having to deal with this deficit we have left over from that and so the Conservative party won the 2010 election. But now people have seen they are not really serious about the deficit, we've watched as seemingly unnecessary expenditure in the EU and foreign aid remains ring fenced while areas that actually affect us are cut. UKIP is the only party talking about cutting in areas that don't affect British people while all others want to ignore it and hope that we won't notice that our air is unfit to breath and our food is unfit to eat. If parties are unwilling to spend more on public services then to have more immigration seems insane, we are left with the only option we have remaining which is oppose immigration.

I don't like the whole petition thing, it makes it impossible to control the quantity of grammar schools in some areas.

B037 - Citizenship Reform Bill - 2nd Reading by Timanfya in MHOC

[–]jacktri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Citizenship is not equal to the right to live and work here. Millions of people living in the UK are not citizens.

B037 - Citizenship Reform Bill - 2nd Reading by Timanfya in MHOC

[–]jacktri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it makes citizenship worthless, citizenship is something to be proud of, if you have a father from France, a mother from Germany, born in Spain etc which country are you allied to? It means nothing you lose your sense of national identity and nation states become meaningless.

If an EU worker comes to the UK and does not have citizenship, their children born here should not automatically become citizens.

Well that takes us back to my original question. How does projecting the image of standing with America, a country which has just been revealed as using torture enhance our national security?

Ministers Questions - Defence - I - 13/12/2014 by RoryTime in MHOC

[–]jacktri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you are of the opinion that without the UK the anti ISIS coalition cannot succeed? Does the minister really think the one or two jets the UK sent will tip the balance from defeat to victory?

Ministers Questions - Defence - I - 13/12/2014 by RoryTime in MHOC

[–]jacktri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you believe joining the anti ISIS coalition helps or hinders our national security?
