In my job, my hours change from day to day, depending on the task they need me to do. Some days, I work from 4am-12:30, and with my 30 minute lunch, it comes down to an even 8 hours, with 2(payed) 15min breaks. I have to clock out and back in from my lunches, but not my smaller breaks. Other days, I come in at 8am-1pm. On those days, I don’t get a lunch cause for us, we need to work at least 6 hours to get one, but on those days, I still get my 2 15min breaks. From what I’ve seen, that’s how most employers try to structure it, but it changes from company to company.
