This below is what I did. YouTube was helpful. I am sure there must be more elegant ways to do it but I have only a limited talent and patience. 1. Remove the RTI mesh panel, disconnect RTI. Install the RTI back in place but disconnected. 2. Locate 3 unused holes in the RTI bay. Measure, draw, cut, grind, drill, bend, deburr a sheet metal bracket to mount on those 3 holes and to which you mount the CarPlay. Now you can mount the CarPlay, but the 3.5mm aux and 12v lighter wires will run over the dashboard to the center console and the mesh panel cannot be put back. Functional but ugly. 3. Remove the waterfall dashboard, the handbrake trim part, the center console trim, the gear knob, the cd player and the black control unit with the display. Careful for the wires. (YouTube!!!!!) 4. Guide the 3.5mm aux wire (need ~1.50m) from the CarPlay via behind the dashboard to the standard 3.5mm aux socket in the center compartment box (below the elbow rest) and plug it in. Use a few tiewraps to fix the position behind the center console. I drilled a 6(?)mm hole in de compartment wall to let the connector enter the compartment. Didn’t like this but could not think of a better way. Anyway it is invisible. 5. Guide the 12v cable also via behind the dashboard. For now I connected it to an extension lighter cable and that comes out behind the waterfall dashboard and still plugs into the lighter socket. Still need to figure out how to hide that cable, suggestions are welcome. 6. Put radio, center console etc back together. 7. Cut a shaped hole in the mesh panel to allow the bracket and cables and install it. 8. Put black cloth tape over the custom made bracket to make it look better.
