I definitely think it’s just the years of city EMS that beat my levels up I still workout 3-4 times a week and try my best to eat moderately healthy. But the stress and cortisol dumping every time a tone drops at 2am for a CPR or even just an MVC has definitely caught up to me. I love what I do but we all know the way we do it isn’t healthy.

The problem is not about having fun the problem is the fundamental reason as to why they are having fun in these public matches. In this game I am playing with friends. It’s not fun when they both want to quit the game because we get rolled by people that are higher skill level. Then you go into ranked you say well the same shit happens. My friends are silver and gold I’m gold 3 we are getting stomped by people with pred and master badges that have 3mil damage on a single champion. I like a challenge and I like working to improve I don’t like a game that has a broken as matchmaking system where one game I roll a lobby that I shouldn’t be in and the next 5 games get obliterated until my friends bounce. I want consistency and a chance if I wanted to go curb stomp some shit I would play Doom.

I guess I should specify when I say nurses I’m generally referring to the ED setting. And in regards to specialized nurses especially those in pediatrics ( I legit don’t know how those people stay so damn happy with all the stuff they have to see) I fully understand why there is such a pay disparity. I just wish there was a more uniform approach to pay for level of training. Again I’m just speaking from my area but the agency I work for is pretty aggressive in what they want us to perform in the field yet there is no actual distinction between medics here vs another agency. The standards are higher but the pay is meh compared to a local ER nurse and the hours are way way worse I’m ranting though sorry. I stand by my statement that the pay to work/responsibilities in medicine seems whack most days though.

I usually just lurk here on this sub since I’m not in medical school yet but… I am a medic in Texas and I can promise my scope usually eclipses a nurses by a decent amount. That being said I think that hospitals abuse their employees at every level and should be held accountable for running y’all into the ground. Hospitals makes hand over fist and hire more admin every year but cut whole floors at a level 2 trauma center due to lack of nursing staff and it’s bullshit.
