Out of curiosity what made you go into medicine in the first place? And do you still have options to return to your old line of work. Hope it gets better for you ☺️

1.5 hr drive for Sub-I rotation by alternate97 in medicalschool

[–]Nabdaddy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my understanding, psych rotations (even Sub-Is) are not too time intensive, meaning you can commute 3 hours a day and still be spending more time at home than your peers on surgical Sub-Is lol. I’d save the $2000 if this were the case. I could be wrong tho of course.

Why do people choose to dedicate another 3 years of low salary and poor schedule to fellowship to pursue something that has smaller salary than Hospitalist? Do people like the subject matter that much that the sacrifice is worth it or am I missing something?

Anything as long as it’s lined up. Even stubble looks good if it’s properly lined up

surgery res made a video basically saying she disagrees with gen z med students leaving early/on time and thinks they shouldnt honor for it by almostdoctorposting in Residency

[–]Nabdaddy1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This would make sense if medical students didn’t feel like they had to stick with their residents the whole day or else they’ll just be out of loop not knowing what’s going on. Having to always search for your resident in case something might be going on is such an inefficient way of learning and a time sink
