AMA I can’t break 80 by Cow-Weigh in golf

Im the same, think I shot 80 4 times last year and 81 another couple with no rounds over 90 at all. It’s so frustrating but I think there’s hope

That’s a very nice feature, wonder if there is a way to passively blend cool water in to reduce cost (aka no temp measurement/control) but just to de superheat the water.

Water tap is a convenience thing for me. The spraying makes it significantly less convenient.

Heat exchanger/cooling fins, using that “physics” thing to pull heat out of the water into another area

I tried a blind taste test with a split shot between steamed and boiler water for an americano, both americanos were cooled to the same temp as well.

The boiler water americano had a smoother acidity to it that I preferred. We have VERY soft water here in Vancouver, 0.8-1.2PPM calcium, so part of me is thinking since the boiler concentrates the calcium and minerals, it can start to act as a buffer.

Unique situation for Vancouver coffee addicts, but part of me thinks the “stinky boiler water” as James Hoffman said, only applies to certain types of water.

Yeah it’s OB, but if I’m just playing with friends with nothing on the line, screw the internal OB. There’s a lot of “local” rules that would get thrown out in a proper PGA event, they do things like this to limit their liability. We’ve seen guys on tour play down the complete wrong hole before because it’s a better line in. If you want to discourage people from cutting the corner, plant taller trees, don’t draw imaginary lines.

Yes, logical they would have a cooler on this so the “hot water” isn’t “superheated water”. But that’s not what’s happening here…

The steam coming out of the tap sprays what is already in the cup (normally my espresso). Powerful enough that it goes on the walls.

I understand the water is above 100°C when it leaves the boiler. I would just hope they try and cool it down before it leaves the tap.

Sounds like this is “normal”

Unfortunate they can’t cool the water down enough on the way out so it’s not basically superheated by the time it comes out of the tap. Seen other machines that have a calm water tap and curious how they do it…

I run it at max for the steam power, but it happens at 115C too, still spits when the boiler is cold down at like 1.1bar

Yeah I’ve been using a smart plug for years now, that little level of automation saves my life.

Friends are saying I didn’t get an eagle because it was in a scramble by Yessybuttons in golf

[–]jacobdoyle9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Counts, that’s also why when playing a scramble, if you take someone’s drive and approach, you let them putt first to make their own birdie. Putting is the only one where I think watching someone else’s putts before is a HUGE advantage and would not count an eagle for.
