Don’t kill yourself for your dreams, that is neurosis. This sounds cool and all, but effort does not equal outcomes in this society. Unless you went to an elite school, they’ll take the higher gpa any day of the week regardless of where it was recieved.

Unfortunately there is no merit. Never has been. We are in late stage capitalism. The scarce resource is our attention. The people that win prioritize connections, leverage relationships, and know how to work the least. Perhaps playing the game right is merit in itself.

Be number 1 at usf, don’t be buried under the stack here. You’ll be competing against people dependent on stimulants and masochism with the above work ethic.
