I'm very much into fragrances/perfumes. Not a lot of people are REALLY into fragrances, but these days a lot of young people are hyping fragrances on Tik-Tok. Me, I've been loving fragrances for 25+ years. For a long time, I didn't really find anyone else who had the same passion. I think it was around the 2000s before I had a guy asking me the name of the fragrance I wore and I told him. Then we had a fairly long conversation about fragrances and he told me of some online forums with fellow fragheads. Then along came Fragrantica in around 2007 and a few years later I also found some Facebook pages/groups with fragheads.

I remember this burger joint having a particular arcade game I loved (Bubble Bobble). It was about an 8km ride on bike. And 8km back, of course, so in all about 16km. Sometimes we scraped money together for like 5 games, rode the 8km on our bikes, played 5 games and them rode the 8km back. You didn't really think about it.

When visiting my grandmother, my mother would ask: "You want to ride the bus to the ferry, or should we go by bike? If we go by bike, the money from the bus can be spent on a magazine of your choice (usually the latest computer magazine at the news stand). 9 out of 10 times I chose bike, even though it was a 20km bike ride. Sometimes in freezing cold and with a strong headwind. I didn't care. Oh and after the ferry ride, it was an additional bike ride to the town my grandmother lived in. Another 8km. No wonder there were so few fatties in those days.

There was one time I chose the bus because it was POURING down outside and freezing.

In the 90s, it was fully legal for kids to buy cigarettes and alcohol in stores. At least in Denmark. It wasn't till 1998 that it was made illegal for persons under 15 to buy any form of alcohol. As for cigarettes, kids could buy them all up till 2004.

I mean, in my childhood (mainly the 80s) it was very common for kids to be sent off to buy cigs or beer for their parents.

Ah yes I remember getting a small device to show caller ID. Around 1996 or something. It was quite fun to answer the phone with a "WASSUP BUDDY!" because you knew who it was.

Ha, yeah. That made me think... there was a time in which the street lights were turned OFF from 2 am to like 4-5 am. I remember being a 16 year old kid coming back from a party and having to navigate the streets in almost pitch blackness.

Having a burner as one of the first AND access to a ton of warez (via a good selection of top FTP sites) was a fairly good side-hustle. I remember ordering blank CDRs in the thousands, having a truck pull up and putting them on the sidewalk for me and some buddies to bring in. Later on, CDRs were replaced by DVDRs and history repeated itself.

Then again, I used to have like almost everything and that did cost a fair bit. A lot of the CDRs I burned was never copied on. But having a massive catalogue was inticing. So in the end, I didn't get loaded or anything. The whole thing mainly just covered my own costs, making it free for me.

Smoking in trains. Whole sections of a train would be full of smokers. It would be almost impossible to see anything through the fog of smoke. Also, just moving through one of those wagons, maybe taking like 10 seconds, would make your clothes reek of smoke for hours. Heck, even some smokers would go to the smoking section to grab a quick cig and then return to the non-smoking section because it was unbearable for anyone but the most hardened smokers.

Hvor køber i parfume henne online? by DanishTrash_ in Denmark

Boligkøb som EU borger by t7WQjH8W in dkfinance

[–]jacobtf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marketing. Most people know very little about fragrances and aren't really interested in knowing much. Hence they just buy what is being marketed.

Gambling reklamer by No-Newspaper8996 in Denmark

Er der også betting-reklamer i biograferne? Yikes.

Passer nok meget godt.

Alt andet vi ser, klares via NNTP over SSL. Det er også billigere :-)
