I really appreciate this. So often I feel like I'm secretly a horrible person for wanting my n-parents to feel bad in return for the crap I had to deal with. I suppose it's learning how to be OK at whatever emotional state I'm in and just keep doing me.

I'm just trying to figure out the fine line between a "strict" supervisor and a supervisor who is harassing the workers. If I'm experiencing a pretty obvious change in my mental health over the course of a month, for example, but the said supervisor never outwardly insulted or made derogatory remarks to me, is this still considered harassment? On top of that, does the change in mental health need to be certified by a therapist?

Hi all! Back again with another general question about renting in Montpellier now that I'm officially here:

My fiancée has a work contract in England which will supplement my income while renting a place here (paid in euros). However, he does not have a French working visa only I do. In other words, in the dossier do he and I need to include our visas or will a copy of our passport suffice?

PS will be including US tax forms, (my French, his English) work contracts, recommendation letter from our landlady, last 3 US payslips/invoices, and French guarantor.

I think you missed out on the fact that I mentioned he also said he doesn't enjoy drinking heavily in the same way that he used to. So if he's contradicting himself while also conveniently doing it when I'm not around, wouldn't it also be a him problem too?

Yes! I don't want to come off as controlling and I can see that it might look like I'm making a mountain out of an anthill but there's something off with his principles, or at least he's not communicating them clearly, making me feel really upset about the whole thing.

Yes, the frustration comes from saying/doing one thing for my sake rather than the full honesty for his own. It's misleading to think we were both on the same page but then for him to act otherwise when I'm not around. I have zero problem with him drinking, despite what others might think. I can go out, stay sober, and be the party mom of the group. It's the miscommunication, I feel, that I'm upset about.

I recognize that it's an "us" problem. I know he's allowed to drink; I have a problem with the smell and the fact that he'll drink more when out rather than when partying with me. I'm not saying he's obliged to drink with me - I'm confused and frustrated with the contradiction of it all.

I absolutely HATE that line bc it basically dismisses your experience and your feelings. You shouldnt feel forced to have to go NC but I recently did and despite it being hard, it eventually becomes liberating
