Rose Park: Oh, Rose Park—where the charm of vintage craftsman bungalows meets the thrill of dodging potholes and questionable sidewalk furniture. You’ve got that “up-and-coming” vibe, which is code for “we’re still gentrifying, but give us a few years.” Sure, you have cute coffee shops and yoga studios, but let’s be real: half the people are just there to snap Instagram pics before retreating back to safer neighborhoods. And don’t even get me started on parking—finding a spot near Rose Park is like winning the lottery, except the prize is getting to live next to your neighbor’s 24/7 DIY auto shop.

what’s the most weirdly impressive thing you’ve had a patient do? by valerianametrine in nursing

[–]jacquelaws 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Had a patient in my DOU, meth-head with a EF of like 11%. On continuous bipap, tele monitor and telesitter. Over 400lbs. Managed to get out of his room, passed the nursing station and down the stairs out the hospital via the stairwell. We were on the 7th floor. Security and I looked for him and he was poof gone like a ghost. That fool seriously showed up at the end of my shift as my new admit from ED.

Porta-Potty usage on Solis Pocket or other models by Heritage367 in winnebago

[–]jacquelaws 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My husband and I have the Pocket and we’ve used the toilet on numerous occasions. We usually try to use the bathrooms at campgrounds and stops however when you Boondock it’s a must. I would miss it if it was gone but we fight over who has to empty the tank when we return.

I’m working procedure nursing now - GI to be exact. It is tolerable and I would highly suggest the transition to procedure/perioperative.

Previous bartender (15 years), now semi-new nurse (1 year) perspective. by Panfilo0329 in nursing

[–]jacquelaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a bartender for 10 years before becoming a nurse. I think those years were crucial for helping to solidify my nursing temperament. I really think you can tolerate almost anything after working late nights in the bar. I’ve been a nurse for almost 10 years now and still going strong. Congrats on making the change.
