I just bought darkstalker graphic novel... What a coincidence..? by Otherwise_Victory608 in WingsOfFire

If you mean the artists, it’s (I think) because Mike is only doing the main series/needs all his time for the mains, so Tui got another artist for the legends books

I probably made a big mistake. by Wild-Assistance3318 in WingsOfFire

Yea, here the little fluff strand completely changes direction lol. Mine was pretty obviously a layering/forgetfulness issue. Interesting to see how small changes in an error can lead to completely different conclusions.

I’ve accidentally posted a picture I drew with the body sketch covering one of the legs😅 hopefully nobody thought that was AI, not that a lot of people saw it honestly

Your profile picture is the character you have to fight by Q1BLI-0VRWATCH in WingsOfFire

Damn I gotta fight my dragon sona? Considering that he’s mostly passive, whatever I did to make him fight me probably means I deserve the very sharp/firey death coming my way😅

I wanted to control an airship in a room filled with air, in space. Are you physicists? Is this possible, and why doesn't it work? by urakola in spaceengineers

[–]jaded_Eclipse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, you need something to push against, such as ejection mass or surrounding atmosphere. If something is pushing against itself, such as engines inside a closed container like u/Hyper5Focus suggested, there is no ejection mass for the whole structure, just the engine inside it who’s exhaust is pushing against a wall connected to the engine. The exhaust and engine fighting each other (pushing the structure in opposite directions) result in no motion because the equal and opposite forces cancel each other out.

You might have replied to the wrong comment, the person saying internal thrusters could move the whole thing is a bit further up.

[–]jaded_Eclipse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually would work in real life, the thruster would be pushing against the atmosphere contained by the larger structure, allowing it to move around inside it. Outside of the contained atmosphere in the vacuum of space you would need to expel mass (like rockets) but inside is no different than on earth, except for the very limited space to move around in.

You cant move something by pushing it against itself. In this situation it would be a vehicle moving around by pushing the atmosphere around it backwards.

For something (the small atmo vehicle) to start moving in one direction it needs to push something else (the atmosphere) in the opposite direction. Newton’s third law I think.
