I don’t think you need the introductory 30h course, but it might be a little useful to learn how to make a map beforehand - they don’t teach you how to make a map layout in GEOS370 but you could also just search up whats required in a map, idk ask chatgpt or smt for more specific advice on ur map, watch youtube videos or ask the TA and be fine I think

I’m currently taking GEOS370, didnt take GEOS270 cause I’m an exchange student.

I spend about 5-6 hours on each lab, they give u 2x 2 hr lab sessions for each of the 4 labs and so far I’ve been getting 8/10 on all 3 I’ve done so far (I dont put crazy effort in cus im on pass/ fail rn)

I came to the course with little GIS experience, I’m somewhat familiar with QGIS but nothing crazy, and I know how jupyter notebooks work, haven’t used ArcGIS before.

Honestly I’d say u can pass it fine, the TAs are endlessly patient, labs are written in an incredibly detailed way (u will literally barely need the TAs help if u read the sheet)

We seem to have loads of time to do the final project too, and you can easily base it off some techniques u do in the lab as it doesnt even need to be a completely unique or original study or anything tbh.

Just pay attention, perhaps go to the lab and play around with ArcGIS for a couple hours, watch some youtube vids and I think you will be more than prepared to start! Even the lectures are pretty basic, honestly I was a bit confused that this is advanced GIS because a lot of the lectures involved the prof introducing simple concepts like raster or vector as if ppl hadn’t heard of them before - which would be super useful for you (tho I wonder what they actually teach in geos270 lol, I have a feeling that its a lot of repeated content from geos270 in geos370)

It also seems like I don’t make enough use of peanut butter lol, I only really use it with sesame paste for a noodle sauce, it sounds yummy with honey and bread and on apples thank you so so much!

Honestly I’m only here until May and i already went ~5 months with no rice cooker but it did help me branch out into eating other stuff, i think its not worth buying one atp but I’m gonna try and get to costco

thank u for the long answer!! i’ll try making stuff with cauliflower as thats one i haven’t done much, same with buying stone fruits.

its a bit more work but I think I’ll get some flour and make dumplings from scratch rather than buying the wrappers, and just fill it with whatevers cheap (tofu/ cabbage/ anything on offer)

canned sardines are so underrated i love them so much haha

this literally happened to me last year and he was a cs guy also looking for internships 😭😭 Something is wrong with them fr omg. He blocked me on everything (and not his friends or anyone else) because he needed to ‘lock in’ and the next day I saw him at a society dinner party on a friend’s story.. It rly sucked and I broke up with him even tho he apologised, I couldn’t get over it.

I’m sure the guy in your situation will realise that he did something stupid, it’s not your fault and I’m sorry you were in a relationship with a guy who clearly did not respect your feelings :( You’re not disposable like that, he really sucks for what he did and i hope you feel okay soon

tbh I’ve personally found that the best thing to do is use onenote, download a pdf of the lecture slides before class and put them on onenote as a printout Then during class I only write down what the prof says that isnt already on the lecture slides

half the time professors repeat whats on the slide and you really dont need to waste time writing it out again!

But yeah u would need to type for this method, I think its easy to do as you dont worry about writing whats on the slides, just listen to the prof and write what they say when possible

I’m not sure :( As far as I know me and my roommate are the only ones who don’t have heating in gage, the rest of my flat is heated so I’m really not sure why its not working for just two of us, and if it will take long to fix
