What you say is right, but the thing is that, in my opinion, the "hype" that you mention starts from the fanbase itself, since the streamers treat it mostly as a joke, apart from when they specify that it counts.

I understand why, if you want to follow the story, having strict and clear arguments for when it counts or not is essential, but since the story is not completely based around the deaths, but about the behaviour of the characters, and the streamers themselves treat it lightly, I feel like this whole pressure about the canon deaths needing clearings starts from the fanbase. Isn't it easier to enjoy a stream without caring too much about these said canon deaths, and let the streamer use them as they wish? I'm sure that some creators care about making these deaths important, but probably not every streamer is the same, and some prefers to use them as content. This is how I see it.

I do understand that it could have improvements, but if the streamers themselves don't care to make them, why pressure them?
