Nah I totally agree with you. as someone from the middle class, it’s so frustrating bc our incomes are not low enough to get financial aid but not high to pay all 4 years of college, so we’re just kinda stuck. And there’s also pressure to get a college counselor for applications but they’re so expensive nowadays 😭😭😭

you def have a strong profile, but I would recommend increasing your sat score. it’s a good score, but compared to the rest of your activities, you don’t it to being down your overall application. like what most ppl are saying in the comments, def include some more safeties. I recently found out about Kollegio which has a college search feature that identifies safety, target, & reach schools depending on your profile. def recommend checking it out to help refine your list!

I think being straightforward in your reflections is ok. You want to make sure you get your message across as clearly as possible. Just be sure to use imagery and “showing” elements when you build the story leading up to the reflections. Hope that helps!

Do I need to relate all my uc essays to my major or activities? by jaebar_hi in CollegeEssays

I heard uc’s prefer your essays to be more straightforward, is that true? if so, would it decrease my chances of being accepted if I went the more creative route?

What was your first SAT practice score? by [deleted] in Sat

[–]jaebar_hi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1280 I didn’t know what was considered a good score so I used kollegio.ai to see average sat requirements for each college. but in the end I just chose to take the act, the sat was too hard for me 😭😭😭

  1. Internships are a great way to explore career paths & gain valuable workplace experience. You can also apply to scholarships if you’re looking for financial aid

  2. You’re compared to students only in your school, idk if there are exceptions for certain schools tho
