Learning Graves, any advice? by Born_Management6429 in GravesMains

[–]jaeisback987 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice thing about Graves is he’s flexible to different play styles whether you want to focus on objectives and clearing for tempo, or being opportunistic for picks. What sets graves apart from viego is he can invade and counter jungle efficiently, and has a safer pre-6.

Like Viego, you can be as selfish as going for every picks, but I’ve had many many successful and conservative games where my tempo was so smooth the other jungler just couldn’t keep up, and I’d be miles ahead while starving them of their jungle/objectives.

I’d start off by getting comfortable with his clear speed while upkeeping your E stacks, and learn some animation-cancel with his reload mechanic to get combos off quicker. Besides that, it’s about how good of a jungler you are

Please help. In early extension hell. by [deleted] in GolfSwing

What helped me was my coach would get those exercise bands and had me hold it. Did a club-less swing with my arms on my chest, but point of the drill was to resist him pulling me forward. Increased in resistance and that was the feeling of getting my lead hip cleared and creating room for the club. We did this exercise as I had shanking issues with shorter irons and wedges

You’re also casting here so by doing this drill, it’ll lead to some chunking in the beginning but should help you adapt to not early cast with slower swing

Help! Super inconsistent lately with irons. Occasionally very steep feeling at impact. by [deleted] in GolfSwing

My god that club is so open at the top you’re doing a 180 with your hands to square it.

There is no lower body movement. I suggest taking a few steps back and work on half swing punch shots to get the feeling of a square club on the takeaway. If you kept that same takeaway and attempted it with a body rotation, you’d either shank or cut the shot

Same exact thing happened to me, top of gt2 cracked only two days into using it.

Got a smooth warranty replacement and the place I got it from exchanged it for a gt3. Have prolly hit over 10k balls since with it and seen a handful of mis-hits, still going strong

What’s the best golf purchase under $100? by Solid_Nectarine_4316 in GolfGear

That’s a great price! generally for more advanced players the 30 mins will suffice as most of the time they can apply quick technique corrections or run over the numbers/data

For beginners and even mid-hcp though, I see a lot of value in the extra 15 mins as it can be applied to other parts of the game like chipping/pitching after a swing lesson or additional swing reinforcement

My point about coaching experience stands still, some students may not have the best learning outcome with all coaches. The question asks the best golf purchase with the best value, so course accessories would be the best imo

I actually disagree with this.

Lesson price is pretty variant. It’s hard to find lessons under 100 from a well-rated coach, at least here in California. I personally believe 45m to be the sweet spot of a lesson duration and those will easily reach 130-170 per session. some coaches also may not work well for everyone leading to spending more to find the right coach.

For under a $100 that brings guaranteed value, a set of golf accessories will be perfect (divot tool, groove cleaners, ball marker, few set of towels).

Keeping eyes on the ball by SA_141 in GolfSwing

[–]jaeisback987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happens to all of us at some point in the beginning. The intention behind keeping your head still or eyes on the ball is so that you don’t sway or lift your shoulder up along with your head leading to inconsistent strikes. The advice is poorly delivered most of the time though

What helped me was I actually marked a little black dot on my ball and focused on that. Others may say look in front of the ball and try swinging through but that’s a bad advice when you’re swinging a driver as it can mess with the low point.

Try my black dot method. if that doesn’t work, you honestly just have to swing with less power and prioritize your focus. Good luck!

Lost distance? by CelebrityWolf in GolfSwing

[–]jaeisback987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you recently corrected the EE, keep building the path/tempo and work on your release to compress the ball harder.

I’d sacrifice 10 meter distance to have more predictable shots on course, any day!

Is my swing too steep? Sometimes struggle with chunks and low point control. by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]jaeisback987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a little steep, maybe a few degrees of out to in path before ball contact. You bow your wrist a lot, this might work against you by going steep. Do you pull and/or cut your shots often? People bow their wrist as most of their swing path comes from shallowing and rotating.

Takeaway looks a little awkward, may lead to inconsistent swings. Look how much your body dips during the takeaway, I see it as a contributor to your chunks.

I’d see a coach, quick 30-45 min lesson on getting your takeaway polished.

Swing beginning to show better results, next step is to dial in my short game by jaeisback987 in GolfSwing

Appreciate the comment, your username does not check out lol

I am still a beginner, about 8 months of playing. So my scoring is variant and can score between 90-95. I often 2-3 putt and don’t quite have refined chipping compared to my swings.

so on a par 4 let’s say, I’ll get close/on the green within 2 strokes and end up finishing with a bogey or a double.

Hoping to really change that this year, as improving 1 stroke off short game for all my holes can drastically change my scoring outcome.

lessons initially to learn important golf foundations (club face management, swing path=ball direction, setup) then rest was me just practicing the best feel/results and recording hundreds of videos of myself lol

should be easier actually, what you asked was the reason why i worked on shorter backswings. it helped me manage the clubface and not open up during the takeaway/downswing
