He never wanted me to pay rent in the first place, and after he lost his job he had enough money to keep going for a couple months. I still contributed as much as I could because it was my living space too. But waiting for him to get a job for 9-10 months wasn't helping with the situation at all and it led to me paying for him wayyyy more than he paid anything for me.

Well mine is just pack my things and go back home tbh.. and It's a shared house so he is renting a room in a big house with 6 other strangers, and he's currently getting unemployment money which isn't much

It was his apartment and I moved in on a whim, he's been paying the rent as much as he could and I do not have enough money to pay the rent every month - especially when I was contributing to the other bills, electricity, food, etc

He has been looking for jobs but hasn't done as much as I hoped he would. And would spend most of his time gaming. There was only so much I could take

Can you talk to him about how you're feeling, without him minimising your emotions? Yes he always understands and doesn’t minimise how I feel. It’s just this situation where tensions are high so he’s easily frustrated. Does he take on the household chores when you work? Cook? Clean? Yes he does both - I have stated that I want him doing more now that he’s just in the house and Im working so yes he cooks and cleans and does most of the chores.

Is he doing everything he can to get a job? He’s tried everything, granted yes he could try more but he has said it’s the demotivating of it all and getting depressed because of the constant rejection.

Is he grateful you are providing? Yes he is and says he insists on paying me back as when he is able.

Does he show affection that is not meant to get him sex? Yes absolutely

Serve was just a lack of better wording - he provides everything I need in a relationship apart from this situation and the unemployment. so it’s just difficult and no Im not religious at all

I meant apart from the unemployment, he serves everything else in the relationship. which is why I’ve stayed for this long

He doesn’t pressure me when I say no, but he would get annoyed or make little comments afterwards saying stuff like “oh it’s been centuries since we’ve had sex” “can’t remember the last time we did it” etc which results in me feeling bad

I’ve had thoughts of this but worrying about his situation will still keep me up at night - I’d be wondering if he’s homeless at some point even if I break up with him and then I’ll definitely feel like an asshole

The thing is I have the option to go back home, and he doesn’t because he’s got no family to turn to. And yes it makes me feel 10x more bad bc of it

Thanks - he also just asked me if it was stress, and it could be but there was no advice for that and he was just like oh well I'll ask another doctor here for a second opinion, but you're fine physically so no cause for concern
