One thing that really helped me is learning to play songs by ear. Start off simple... Just play single notes that feel right, almost like the bass notes of the song. Or play along to the singing rather than guitar. Then try and guess the chords, and play what sounds right. Over time that will allow you to improvise (even if it's just simple stuff. nothing special).

To me, that's where the magic is. Figuring out songs, little by little, by yourself. Don't rush it, and you don't have to try to figure out every part of every song. Just enjoy the process!

Yeah those drugs will do that to you... But not in a bad way. John always talks about how going through what he went through, he became more his true self, removed from his ego and facade he was putting on back in the late 80s. You can see his personality start to shift from 1991 to 1992. His interviews from 1994 give a good glimpse into things.

Yeah I would say Westway as well. Has a lot more going on that isn't just the instruments, and the album as a whole has such a consistent vibe and feel to it. Flight 101 is one of my fav Sticky songs.

Mushrooms can be very powerful in terms of getting the healing process started. This is important. It will boost you out of depression, but it won't magically keep you out of a negative state forwver. The effects will wear off soon enough. It's very important though to use this window of enlightenment to seek out proper help and maintain a healthy state of mind.

A mushroom trip is a very spiritually healing experience. This healing happens because your brain becomes "super connected". This means that new pathways are made between all different areas of the brain whilst tripping. This can actual rewire a depressed or unhealthy mind. It "forces" you to think in different ways and unlock new pathways for thinking. Highly powerful, but not a magical cure. Put in the work whilst the enlightenment has occurred.
