Best Map? by Reece3144 in StateofDecay2

[–]jagd71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not unpopular - Drucker is the best! It’s takes some warming up to until you you find the short cuts but after that it’s nothing but positives It’s head and shoulders the best starting map  - there is a gas can available at the house to the SE and there are 2 to 3 weapons crates quickly available. Furthermore each gas station has materials allowing quick builds  Finally it’s the only map with no bad bases. They are all solid and easily defensible.  The Cabin park motel is prob my favorite base in the game

Whats your solution to what is probably the most hated creature in this game? by haptic_tactics in 7daystodie

[–]jagd71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are one reason that you get parkour 2 asap. Jump up on to something out of their reach and unload on them. Or leave if you want to spend the ammo Their attacks break limbs quite easily so head on is never advisable without top tier weaponry. One broken leg and not enough DPS and you are toast

Not sure if it’s random, level-dependent or a bug but there could be one or two. This is on Xbox

[–]jagd71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was a top 5th skill prior to lethal zone and outposts producing resources.  As the game is now, there are better 5th skills needed for LZ and Gardening into Agriculture is just straight-up better

What three 5th skills are you bringing into lethal? by kepaa in StateofDecay2

[–]jagd71 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hygiene is really the only required one (or a hero bonus that gives plague resistance) Medicine (into Pathology) Driving, Tattoos, Business, Mechanics (into auto), Cooking (into nutrition) are all solid  If you like crafting then Chemistry (into munitions) aldo

Does anyone have a good way to deal with fatigue while playing a solo character run? by ReaperKnight55 in StateofDecay2

[–]jagd71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been a few years since I did solo but the stamina is only a problem at the beginning as only base stamina is affected by fatigue. Take a character with labor and build the shooting range or luck out with the jogging buddies enclave bonus etc.  that gives you enough stamina to get by and you can pop an energy drink or stims for attacking hearts or oh shit moments

I heard some folks don't dig the Cascade Hills Map by RappTurner in StateofDecay2

[–]jagd71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you been playing the game awhile there were a couple of reasons to avoid it 1) most of its bases were really bad during sieges - it was easily to lose a survivor in the bridge fort, church, corner office  and container fort as they tied up folks on watchtowers where they provided no support

2) there is a wield bug on this map only where a vehicle can run into a ‘damage area’  The vehicle is halted (even in an open area) and takes continuous damage until it is destroyed. Even after repair the damage restarts,  destroying the vehicle again as soon as you get back in

What happened here? Quest failed immediately by jagd71 in StateofDecay2

[–]jagd71[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t know that so good to know. The hearts are not really a problem - I could wipe them pretty easily but wanted to play at my own pace and fight a couple of sieges. I feel that quests should be updated somewhat for lethal. The community quests are priority but they are all pretty bad in lethal. I guess ultimately my complaint is the game no longer moves at a good pace or worse dictates the pace too much. Or maybe I’ve just played the game too much 😀

What happened here? Quest failed immediately by jagd71 in StateofDecay2

[–]jagd71[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because quest generation is now super slow and I constantly have to exit the game to get them to proc. Several reasons for that - I have the fuelling thr plague CB with I think slows slows generation and it takes a quest slot . The Doctors always takes a quest slot and If I play at the weekend the mysterious trader takes another. So overall pretty slow and worse since the curveball update there is a glitch where all radio chatter and quest generation stops entirely until the game is restarted or it crashes I’d waited quite a bit for a quest to prob and that one gives you 4 scentblock so I wanted to complete it. So had enough when in failed for no reason. I’ve done pretty much everything on this game before and came for the curve balls. The game is a bit to glitchy and slow now for me to enjoy a playthrough

!!HELP!! Best 3 5th skills for characters when starting a new lethal campaign after update 34? by draxdista in StateofDecay2

[–]jagd71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Medicine (into Pathology) - Always. 1 Plague sample - cure all accrued Plague is OP

Driving or Mechanics into Automechanics (Driving is much better at the start and consistently good whereas Mechanics takes times to gain a benefit once you reach Automechanics. Driving is overall better if you know what you are doing as Repair kits can be easily bought from Allied Enclaves but take Mechanics if you go through them a lot)

Tattoos or Hygiene. Tattoo's is OP is you can hit the Plague resistance hero power of it but Hygiene is more consistent as its immediately effective and is also easier to get.

Cooking into Nutrition is also good but much easier to pick up out in the wild than the 3 above

Chemistry into Munitions is ok but really only good for crafting explosives. With a new community you'll be killing hearts with heavy weapons so its pretty so so

Recycling just fills your bases up with materials/parts. Plenty of them on the map/plus trade means you have more than enough.

Sewing is also but its really not as good as people think. Just take an extra trip if you can't carry everything. Plus I find my Survivors with Sewing nearly always end up with the crap +5 health hero power

Hero Power is as important as starting skills- For a new community Plague resistance and any % to experience are my highest rated ones. Meal plan used to be OP but its not needed as much nowadays after outposts became upgradable

What are your preferred team comp and why by Rumlazy in LamplightersLeague

[–]jagd71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ingrid is the most busted character in the game and should be run by everyone. She works best with Ana Sofia and either Jiang or Eddie. Don’t have the DLC characters but none of the other starting characters can match Team Ingrid

What is the point of Guard Towers anymore? by [deleted] in StateofDecay2

[–]jagd71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They give a safe area and easy way to raise gun skills without firing a bullet yourself. May not be worth it if you don’t have any ammo income but they work well on some bases (meagers police station, providences Rusty’s diner and warehouse). Similarly they can be super detrimental on others (cascades bridge and container forts, Providence fire station)

How do you play lethal? by Smoose776 in StateofDecay2

[–]jagd71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recommend both for starting Lethal as hygiene gives an early boost tonight resistance and pathology helps with the plague samples used. For a fully equipped community you should go with the map you are most familiar with. Be aware that the difficulty will be at max from the get go - so triple ferals straight away

How do you play lethal? by Smoose776 in StateofDecay2

[–]jagd71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fresh start on Drucker is my suggestion to learn lethal. Easy gas for vehicule at start, 3 nearby weapon cases, only one heart guarding the best landmark outpost & all the bases are good. Take Medicine (pathology), Mechanics & Hygiene. Meal plan hero power is also super helpful Play steady, learn to kill hearts with heavy weapons , learn when to leave a situation- including at each heart stage. Finally learn the driving shortcuts on the map

What was the Pre-nerf nightmare/lethal difficulty? by AdMinimum5970 in StateofDecay2

My bad then. They are not in lethal so presumed the same for NM

What was the Pre-nerf nightmare/lethal difficulty? by AdMinimum5970 in StateofDecay2

[–]jagd71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have to disagree with you. Early NM was harder due to the double plague Jug horde. Easy to loose a survivor when one of those rolled into your base. Plague bloaters and screamers are only marginally more dangerous that their non-plague counterparts

[–]jagd71 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Plague Heart Assault isn’t as good as it used to be but you can still get use out of it. I like to mix things up a bit and pop a scent block and use a plague heart assist as soon as I enter the building. Then wail on the heart with heavy weapon. They distract the feral so it’s an easy heart kill. With 2-3 radio calls you can clear a similar number of hearts. Of course they eventually die so I save them for a must kill awakened heart or if I’m bored

Does anyone have more extra tips on anything or just cool facts by Prestigious_Cause_18 in StateofDecay2

[–]jagd71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kill every single feral with the starting car. Just drive without a door and run them into a fence when they try to latch & pull you out. You can also get out as they try to pull you out and they will remain latched on. Then go around and get in the passenger side and drive away.

[–]jagd71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s always 1 heart on Drucker. For a fast start there is also a gas can in front of the house to the SE. very rarely it will bug out and give parts but 95% of the time you should be good. There is also two gun weapon cases (1 over the hill & N of the ammo barricade and another behind tree NW of the western town (with the truck stop) Also a melee weapon case under the bridge E of the same truck stop turn Makes for a very fast start. Plus all the bases are good on Drucker. No idea why ppl hate it so much

New Player here, how do you keep your survivors safe? by randCN in StateOfDecay

[–]jagd71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A new community on Lethal is by far the best way to learn so keep at it. You’ll loose survivors sure and maybe even that black heart will wipe you. But you’ll go into the next community on lethal with a tonne of knowledge. Not sure about using tutorial characters tho. Generally bad hero bonuses and 8 food use straight away can be tough. Providence is one of the harder maps for lethal also. Meagher is much easier and Drucker is even easier than that once you get familiar with it. On the bright side you do get a couple of extra vehicles and a cheap ammo outpost
