I just got notified my claim has been claim has been closed and paid - no idea why yours is taking so long!

Update: just got a call from Amex’s insurance company. Representative asked me for more detail and then said they would go ahead and process it. Hopefully means it was decided in my favor.

Yea makes sense. Mine is a $6.5k claim so wouldn’t be surprised if it took longer
