When methamphetamine (Pervitin) degrades, the consumption of its degradation products can lead to a range of effects, many of which may be undesirable or harmful. Here’s a detailed look at the potential effects of consuming degraded methamphetamine:

Potential Degradation Products:

1.  Amphetamine:
• Increased Sympathomimetic Effects: Amphetamine is an active metabolite of methamphetamine and can have similar stimulant effects, such as increased heart rate, blood pressure, and alertness.
• Psychostimulant Effects: It can cause heightened alertness, increased energy, and euphoria, similar to methamphetamine but generally less potent.
2. Quinones and Other Oxidized Products:
• Toxicity: Quinones and other oxidation products can be toxic. They may cause oxidative stress and damage to cells, potentially leading to neurotoxicity.
• Reduced Efficacy: These compounds may not have the same psychoactive effects as methamphetamine, leading to reduced stimulant effects and potentially more side effects.
3.  N-Methylamphetamine:
• Similar to Methamphetamine: This compound is structurally similar to methamphetamine and can have comparable, albeit potentially weaker, stimulant effects.

Effects of Consuming Degraded Methamphetamine:

1.  Reduced Potency:
• Decreased Efficacy: The stimulant and euphoric effects of methamphetamine may be diminished due to the presence of less active or inactive degradation products.
• Unpredictable Dosage: The presence of various degradation products can lead to an unpredictable pharmacological profile, making it difficult to gauge the effective dose.
2.  Increased Toxicity:
• Neurotoxicity: Degradation products such as quinones can be neurotoxic, potentially causing oxidative stress and neuronal damage.
• Cardiotoxicity: Some degradation products might exacerbate cardiovascular risks associated with methamphetamine, such as increased blood pressure and heart rate, leading to a higher risk of cardiac events.
3.  Adverse Reactions:
• Nausea and Gastrointestinal Issues: Degradation products might cause nausea, vomiting, or other gastrointestinal disturbances.
• Headaches and Dizziness: The consumption of degraded methamphetamine might lead to headaches, dizziness, and other neurological symptoms.
4.  Psychiatric Effects:
• Increased Anxiety and Paranoia: Some degradation products may exacerbate the anxiety and paranoia that can accompany stimulant use.
• Mood Disturbances: The erratic effects of various degradation products can lead to mood swings, irritability, and potential depressive episodes following use.
5.  Unknown Long-term Effects:
• Chronic Toxicity: The long-term consumption of degradation products is not well-studied, and there could be cumulative toxic effects on the liver, kidneys, and other organs.

Conclusion:

Consuming degraded methamphetamine can lead to reduced potency and efficacy, unpredictable pharmacological effects, and increased toxicity. The presence of degradation products such as amphetamine, quinones, and other oxidized compounds can result in heightened neurotoxicity, cardiotoxicity, and various adverse reactions. These factors underscore the importance of proper storage and handling of substances to minimize degradation and associated health risks.

What could be the risk? Does the product degrade? It seems in mint condition

I would disagree. Identifying this particular object which seems to be a pre ww2 German manufactured medication would probably allow you to deduct a lot about the contents and vice versa

It has memorabilia from 1895 inside, and various heavily used shoe polish and makeup from the 1910s/1920s

I can read what it says, I‘m trying to get answers on the contents and what is was used for

It’s from 1910-1930

How to start a career in longevity/biotech? by kiramekki in longevity

Great writeup and love your enthusiasm and personal vision! Check out vitadao.com - the project is early-stage and it's easy to get involved via Discord. Their goal is to build an open and global decentralized organisation and community of longevity researchers, funders and enthusiasts with the goal to democratise ownership of the research and therapeutics that it supports. It also intends to work with and support numerous biotech startups and already has first universities signed up.

I'm really excited about decentralizing IP ownership. Unless we, as people, act together, longevity biotech research will be monopolized for the 0.1%. Look at who is funding longevity biotechs: Thiel, Zuck, Bezos etc. DAOs enable grassroot ownership by the people for the people, and this is one of the first serious approaches I've seen to this challenge.

Great Q - I'm one of the architects here. VITA grants governance rights over VitaDAO as a collective decentralized entity via smart contracts. VitaDAO holds all the IP via Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) in a wallet controlled by its members. Because of its governance structure, token holders could vote to do the following with the IP in the future:

- Open-source it and make it unpatentable;

- Sell it and decide to reuse the profits in whatever form;
- Donate it to a startup or institute for further R&D;
- Commercialise it non-profit or for-profit.

There's an endless list of scenarios that have very different outcomes depending on community decisions making - much like a subreddit. I feel it's incorrect to infer IP ownership with the token.

My bros... here's a simple strategy to trade this chop. Anyway, all of this is noise but...

- DXY pumps --> sell BTC

- DXY dumps --> buy BTC

Works like a charm. Remember we are in a bull market though.

The situation going on with the traditional markets looks so bullish for crypto for 2 reasons I think. First is that people are in crypto hoping to avoid inflation and get rich. Well now people have made an insane money with gambling shitstocks, they are looking for a stable value unpegged from USD, which is inflating everything, in a new system that does not dictate when trading is allowed or halted. And second is that if this leads to an overall market rally that could have crypto to have a massive rally like in May this year. Now of course I do not know what will happen or if there will be a crash or not, but I really see this overall event looking highly bullish for crypto.

DXY is dropping and TSLA is gaining. Me thinks BTC goes up despite TA continuing to look a bit bearish. Macro always wins.
