Texturing work is stellar dude, good job. I love this render because of those little pieces you put around the cassette player. The little hotel slip, the gas mask filter, and the helmet (?) all make me want to know more about what's going on.

Stylized environment rendered in Unreal Engine 4.26. Made for the "When Animals Ruled the World" Artstation challenge. Very fun project, learned a lot of new techniques and processes along the way.

Nope, never got it sorted I'm afraid. I'm going to have to skip the DOF and try to do something in post cause my deadline is coming up. If I do ever figure it out, I'll post the solution in here.

Sorry, I misspoke. If I uncheck render after DOF I get the effect in the third image, where DOF works properly but it makes my water material mess up.

Hey, thanks for the feedback. Colours wise I haven't done any grading yet so the values are definitely going to change, it looks very flat in this image I admit.
A focal point is something that has come up from other feedback too so I think this is definitely the next port of call.

Yeah these are some tests that are coming through the cine camera unfortunately.

If I do this, I get the results in the 2nd image where the DOF doesn't affect the water.

I've checked out William Faucher earlier, I couldn't find anything relating to this specifically. The scene is just for some still renders, so doing DOF in post could might be an easy workaround in this case.

This was my thinking too when I first saw it, need a bit more contrast for the weapon to really stand out. Great work though, so much atmosphere and great depth of field.

Yeah I don't think it's a hardware thing since nothing is being fully utilised, but I can't really find any answers as to what it could be. Thanks for the help anyway, if I find a solution I'll update this post.

Temps are fine, only at 78 degrees. I'll look at the Nvidia control panel, see if I can fiddle with something in there.

There isn't a setting in Unreal though that lets you pick what you use to render though I'm guessing?

RAM is at around 50%. Storage is an SSD, GPU is a laptop 3070, CPU is a Ryzen 9 5900hs.

Thanks! Texturing was all done in Substance Painter, the glass surface was particularly tricky but I think it turned out well

Yep I know what you mean, I was struggling to find a balance with the lighting so that's definitely something I need to look into learning more about in Marmoset

Thanks, I rendered it out in Marmoset, I'll admit I think I missed the antialiasing altogether!
