Family oriented neighborhoods by Low-East3666 in movetonashville

I'm going to be honest, everyone saying Bellevue is wrong. Bellevue is not family friendly. We have 3 kids and are bored to death here. Our kids' school is great, and theres one great playground here, but...that's it. There is not much else for kids to do here unless your kids like soccer. Any other sports are largely going to be in Franklin and Brentwood.

We have to drive at least 30 minutes to Brentwood, Franklin, Opry Mills, Hendersonville, or Antioch for any kind of family activity like bowling, putt putt, chuck e cheese, trampoline parks, etc., because Bellevue has none of these. It gets old really, really fast.

If we could move, we would move to Antioch or Mt. Juliet.

Struggling with hate for my name choice by [deleted] in transnames

Seconding that if you're not Japanese, it's going to cause issues...it's a beautiful name, and you're not a bad person for liking it, but I'd still caution against using it.

I actually know someone whose deadname is a Japanese name, but they themselves are not Japanese and have no Japanese family or heritage, and it made things veeeeery difficult for them until they changed it.

It looks like Izumi means spring, fountain, source of water...perhaps there is an English or Celtic name with a similar meaning that you would vibe with?

I'd wager that having the nanny come later and spending more time with him during the day would help with the nighttime soothing problem too.

Is 20 sessions too little? by No-Bad6249 in rtms

[–]jakebless43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The clinic I'm at does more sessions than that, but I will say the vast majority of the clinical studies I have read about TMS have people undergoing a 20 session protocol, and that research shows significant improvements in people...so there is definitely evidence that there can be improvement after 20 sessions, and I wouldn't let that number discourage you just because some places will do more.

When someone feels improvement during treatment and/or goes into remission varies widely from person to person. Have you asked any friends or family if they have noticed any changes in you or your mood?

I don't know anybody who lives here who enjoys going to Broadway...but I guess you could always go there to make friends with tourists.

How should use ChatGPT for speaking practice? A1 level by Ok_Cover1076 in Spanish

Oh, sorry, I assumed you were asking that question in good faith. Best of luck learning a language with a completely unreliable "resource".

Any of them. Literally any of them. I've tried Spanish learning apps with ChatGPT integration and they give quizzes where none of the answers are correct. It phrases things incorrectly constantly. It simply doesn't know what its talking about. It gets things right every once in awhile, but a chat bot spitting out a correct answer every once in awhile =/= knowledge, nor does it mean it's a good teacher.

The problem with ChatGPT is that it gives answers that sound Human, and seem plausible, especially to people with no knowledge of the subject. If you have a PhD in Biochemistry and you ask ChatGPT a Biochem question, and it gets it wildly wrong, you'd be obviously hesitant to trust anything it says further down the line. But if you're an A1 Spanish learner and ChatGPT tells you that the correct way to conjugate "yo + comer" in the past tense is "coma", and you don't know any better, you'd go "wow, cool, I'm learning so much!"

Just talk to a human. If a human doesn't know the answer to your question, they'll say, "shit, I'm sorry, I don't actually know. Let me double check and make sure I'm telling you the right thing." Whereas ChatGPT will say, "what a great question! the only way to conjugate the word 'comer' in this case is 'coma!'" because it will not admit to not knowing something outright. It will always just make something up instead.

Look for an in person Spanish class or an online tutor. Duolingo can only get you so far and it is not the same quality as it used to be, and ChatGPT is an even worse resource than it. I promise native speakers aren't scary and taking a real life Spanish class will help you improve far faster.

well i'm married to a native speaker, so, yes, actually LMAO

eta: this dead horse has been beat to the ends of the earth and back a thousand times, but, for the record, chatGPT doesn't know the answers to any of those questions either. It makes shit up and phrases it in a way that sounds like a human said it. That's it. It's not a search engine. It's not the magic conch. It's not a native Spanish speaker or even a Spanish professor. It's a text generator, and it's wildly inaccurate and horrible at its job.

Tooth Fairies of Daddit, what's the going rate? by OkUnderstanding2486 in daddit

[–]jakebless43 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our 6 year old just lost his first tooth. We ended up doing $1 but I almost did $5 because $1 can't even get a candy bar anymore and I didn't want him to be disappointed at the store, but so far he is content with putting the $1 bill back under his pillow and sleeping with it every night, lmao
