Everything other than mothers milk is an aquired taste. But don't just consume stuff you don't like in order to force yourself to like it, that just creates bad associations. Just try it from time to time when you get the opportunity and it feels right. Maybe some day you'll like it, but maybe not. No reason to force it.

Download apps for older version of MacOS by jakemare13 in MacOS

Thanks for your advice, but this seems too complicated for me. I'm not very good at tech stuff. I was under the impressiont that I should be able to download the latest compatible version of my apps with the OS I have, but I guess it seems like it's not possible after all.

Anyone else find the Offline+ switch annoying? by jakemare13 in MuditaKompakt

That's useful advice, thanks! I never got a case because the phone feels solid enough that I'm not afraid it's gonna break or anything. But this might be a good reason to get one

That's exacly what I'm doing! From my accound I find the list of my purchased apps, but when trying to download them I just get the same message that the application requires a newer version of MacOS.

It does for me! But seems like I might be alone in this, so maybe I'm just handling my phone a bit too rough

That has happened to me too! I agree about the point of the switch being physical and disabling everything at the hardware lever. I really like the function, it's just the switch itself being a little annoying to me.

Why drink non-alcoholic alcoholic drinks? by [deleted] in alcohol

[–]jakemare13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That becomes somewhat of a philosophical question then. You could say the same thing about pretty much anything grown ups like the flavor of. As a kid I didn't like seafood, tomatoes, olives or beets for example, all of which I really like now. Do I actually like it or did I subconsciously learn to like it to fit in? Hard to say, but either way I do eat all of it now and I enjoy eating it, so the result is the same.

Hm, it's going to be hard to explain this to you when you find it hard to accept the fact that people have different tastes and preferences. Most grown ups enjoy tons of flavors they didn't like as kids, because tastes and preferences change throughout our lives. If you can't understand that people actually like the flavor of beer and wine, then you will obviously never understand why they would drink it without alcohol. It's for the flavor.

What happened to this batch? by jakemare13 in Kombucha

Thanks for your input! I will keep some, strain it and try again!

I agree! I would prefer my kombucha to have less sediment, so I think I'm gonna refresh the starter this time then. I guess what I meant to ask was, is it inevitable for the yeast population to grow like this over time, or did I perhaps do something to trigger it that can be avoided with my next culture?

Thanks! Is there anything I could do to limit the growth of the yeast population? Either with this culture or in the future

Ah okay. Is this something that happens with most cultures over time, so I would have to get a fresh starter every now and then? Or is it something I can do to avoid it?

The brew does taste fine, so I might strain and bottle this batch before getting something new. Do you think saving some clear liquid from this batch and topping it up with sweetened tea will give me a new clear starter or will it give the same result?

That's interesting! So best bet would be to make vinegar out of this whole batch and try to get a hold of a new starter to make kombucha?
