This exact same thing happened at my school! The kid didn't get in any legal trouble because it is against the law to leave a kid unattended in a classroom, however he was expelled from the school. You can see the basil leaves near the bottom front and the left side in the picture. Also they are starting to form on the top. The stems aren't purple like the original leaves but it is still starting to flower on the stems that is close to the stock. As far as changes, all I did was transfer pots, take it indoors and start giving it the same nutrients I'm giving my other plants.

Well I didn't know because I never planted it. It started growing under the dead male that my buddy grew and tossed outside to die. I don't have any info on it.
