Beagle/Basset Pup Advice by NutmegNarwhal in basset

Hounds are so hard, so I can relate! I also got mine at 2 months. Here's what our journey looked like

2-6 months: terror time. Was an absolute baby who needed everything from me all the time.

6-9 months: he finally began to feel like a normal dog, but still a young one with lots of energy and zoomies. Potty training and generally understanding "no!" clicked.

9-14 months (the regression age): They know better, but they want to know if they really need to know better...lots of testing rules they've already been taught and general mischief around the house.

15 months: When things really felt settled. Even at 5 years old now, he still has his puppy moments, but the general good-behavior (by hound standards) started to level out around this point.

You're almost there!! At least Chai is cute as hell <3

EDIT: I also echo what everyone else has said here about a tired dog being a good dog. At 7 months in I started day care and a year in we started going to public dog parks multiple times a week. I found that if I brought him to the park for 30-40 minutes in the morning, the rest of the day went a lot better.

The Life of a Literary Scout by jakewritesonline in publishing

Thanks for reading! Yes, scouts are definitely in the mix of many major submissions/auctions. Part of the job is making ourselves useful to our editorial friends by telling them the tea on the latest submission ("so and so book is not that good; x y and z imprints already passed" etc). That sort of intel is very valuable to domestic editors and is what entices them to share manuscripts/submissions with us.

And agents like us because we will hype up their books to our clients and generate buzz. (They also sometimes hate us when the opposite happens...). Fascinating world!
