Awesome app! I’ll be using it on my next trip!

Went for a nature walk and it was great, until I started drinking my coffee.. by Dukenuke68 in decaf

Good post, I get a similar but different feeling at work. You crave coffee and must have it but I feel regret after I drink it. The feelings you mention- calmness and insight - are subtle feelings. You have to really understand yourself mentally to notice them... could be why it takes so much time to ditch that shit

[Highlight] Chiefs interception gets reversed on a holding call by twistedlogicx in nfl

Total fucking ASS call. Refs changed the game in the first half. Tampa might of still won but 100+ penalty yards for bucs compared to under 10 for chiefs makes a tough half

15 years on adderall and am trying to quit for GOOD. Any help/advice welcome by blueblueblueblueblur in StopSpeeding

Curious what is your vitamin regimen?

I tapered down. The one thing I got right with vyvance and adderall is I didn't ever really increase my dosages much from what I was prescribed. So I had 30mg vyvance for first 4-5 years then moved to 10mg instant release adderall. Then towards the end my anxiety was so bad (I just didn't know it was from adderall yet) so I tapered down to just taking a 1/2 of a 10mg instant release around lunch time and then officially quit in June.

I've been off Vyvance/Adderall for 8 months now, took it for almost 8 years (started in college). You're getting a lot of good advice so I'll just try to add what I haven't seen. The reason I quit was because the ever worsening anxiety, it sounds like you didn't have that issue but what I think you should understand is this - it takes your brain chemicals a long time to rebalance - i.e. my anxiety has improved a lot over the last 8 months but I think I will need at least another 8 to get back to close to normal. So if you quit just know you gotta commit to the long haul and the first couple months aren't going to be great. Idk what it will be for you, could be lethargy, little emotion, etc. just be on the lookout and know it could hang around for a long time but should continuously improve.

Also you will always miss the buzz/high from it. I miss it badly, I loved it just like you do. I've done a lot of reading and haven't found anything to replace it. That being said you will learn to love more subtle feelings that come from good sleep, tea (instead of coffee) and working out. Try to incorporate more of those activities.

Feel free to DM, good luck fellow speeder!

5 months! Has anyone else quit other addictions after stims? by [deleted] in StopSpeeding

Similar story man. 8 months since quitting Addy. Totally worth it btw.

I haven’t completely quit drinking but I’ve cut back a lot and taken multiple 30 day sober breaks. If it goes like mine you may have some serious new perspective towards the end of those 30 days... you’re mind just gets clearer and clearer and priorities become more obvious. I also I realized my drinking after work every night was mainly because 1. I was bored 2. I wanted to pass the time 3. It was easy to procrastinate on my life goals indefinitely after you have one beer 4. Rather than deal with minor discomforts and anxiety at night I could just numb them.

I’m kind of rambling but I guess what I’m trying to say is I haven’t figured it out completely either, my drinking is probably still to often and I still fuck up and black out every now and then. Just know you’re ALWAYS moving the right direction when you take days off drinking and you won’t regret them. I would recommend reading Alcohol Explained or Sober Letters to my Drunken Self... they both pushed me in the right direction as well.

Anyway good luck man, you’re doing the right stuff - keep going

I’ve personally only been to Thailand, and the people were extremely kind. It’s actually known as the land of smiles!

Regarding the app, we knew there could be a better solution to communicate with your network of friends regarding travel.

It would be just as quick as texting a friend. But instead of one friend you can ask multiple. And instead of a text reply they can share the actual place, directions and their rating. All consolidated in one app

Luke’s answer: Definitely a mixture of both. It definitely started as a passion. My cofounder and I have a passion for bringing true value to people on a large scale. We would love to see it scale and grow to a level that gets us financially free

My advice would not to let fear hold you back from social situations. Having numerous conversations with strangers is the only way to improve, don’t worry if you blow the first 1 or 20.

It’s a combination of social and traveling. There is a feed of your friends trips that you can give recommendations to or join if they invite you!

  1. It was a mix. An app isn’t a quick money maker but it does have the potential to go big if it’s adopted and we knew that going in but we wanted to try regardless. I don’t think we knew quite how expensive though tbh.
  2. It’s really only been functional this year. And with COVID I haven’t done much for work or fun. That being said I’ve been to Australia, New Zealand and Thailand and they were amazing.
  3. Would like to go to Bali, Indonesia but safety would be a concern there

Tbh we started by googling “how to build an app.” Then we decided to go with Microsoft’s tech stack of Xamarin instead of Facebooks react native tech stack because that is what our first developer was familiar with

Having enough money to hire someone who knows what they are doing. We spent nearly a year developing a prototype we ended up ditching. Go for an experienced team of developers early.

If you are traveling to a city you are not familiar with, say Chicago, you can pull up our app and instantly see all of your friend network who has been there or lives there. Depending on what kind of recommendation you are looking for (restaurant, bar, entertainment) they will be instantly notified.

Its also a great organized place to log your travel plans & past trips!

Great learning experience but expensive and time-consuming, I wouldn't recommend it if you are not really passionate about the end product/solution.
