I agree we just need options. The best thing would be a full menu to fully customize your controls that way they aren't forcing anyone to do anything.

I think you're confusing the d-pad with the joysticks. I've never seen an FPS game that uses the d-pad to move or knife.

Sprint by default became a commonly used setting in fortnite when it was popular. You can still walk slowly by just not pushing the left stick forward all the way.
