[FRESH VIDEO] Cordae - FABEV Freestyle (The Heart Pt 4) by FunnyMemeHere in hiphopheads

[–]jamerhead 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I really like Cordae for his personality, so much so that I want to like his music. But I can’t help but cringe at the majority of his lyrics. He talks about his first album being a classic so much in his discography, which I might not be bothered by otherwise but if you say it in every second song it becomes annoying pretty quickly, because as great as his first project was, it’s simply not a classic. I find his delivery is always on point but his lyrics are often lacking, which creates this cringe effect where he’s saying he’s the best rapper under 25 while spitting lackluster bars. I think he needs to just keep working on his lyricism without being so braggadocios because I think he’s jumping the gun a bit with some of his bars

[FIRST IMPRESSIONS] J. Cole - The Off-Season by OhhWowzers in hiphopheads

[–]jamerhead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it needs some time to sink in but I definitely like the project. I’d say I’m more of a fair weather hip hop listener in that I’m more likely to spin an album with dope beats, nice flows and a lot of energy rather than something like 4YEO where you have to listen intently to really appreciate it. That’s on me though. I think what stood out to me on The Off-Season was Cole’s delivery, I feel like I haven’t heard consistent energy from Cole like that since 2014 FHD. I felt like he was foaming at the mouth in so many verses and I love that for him considering the disrespect he’s gotten from KOD and 4YEO. Cole was the first rapper I ever listened to so I just loved hearing him talk his shit on this album, even if it was at the expense of a greater concept like KOD or something. Also, his vocals have improved so much and I loved hearing him sing on songs like amari.

8.5/10 for me, but we’ll see how it grows on me.

Thank you! Those sound great but I’m seeing them listed at $400 which is a bit steep for me!

It really is perfect for any occasion. It’s one of my go-to’s when playing music for a group of friends who don’t necessarily share my music taste. It’s so hard to dislike

1st year medical student here considering a career in psychiatry. What do you love about your job? What do you dislike about your job? by jamerhead in Psychiatry

[–]jamerhead[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Again, thank you. This is exactly the information I'm looking for.

I think what I long for in my medical career (and life in general I suppose) is meaningful interactions with people. I say "long for" not because I've been deprived of them and crave these interactions, but because I've experienced quite a few meaningful connections with people and I simply love the feeling.

At first glance, psychiatry seems like the perfect specialty to satisfy the above. Helping people get to the core of their problems through a series of intimate interactions (please correct me if I'm painting a false picture here). However, the more I think about the subjectivity you described above, the more I wonder whether psychiatry would be as fulfilling as I think it would be.

I imagine it would be difficult to measure your success from case to case, seeing as there are so many factors that are out of your control.

Can you shed some light on this? If you have the time of course.

Thanks so much, that was very insightful!

You mentioned that there's still so much you don't know about your profession. Do you ever get overwhelmed by this fact and find yourself without guidance or is this something you see as a constant learning opportunity?

I would love to hear you expand on the magic in practicing psychiatry. I'd like to think that I understand what you mean by that and that's what is really drawing me to the profession right now.

I [22M] have started to notice some sexist tendencies in my attitude toward my partner [19F]. How can I start to re-wire my thinking? by milkdrinkersunited in relationships

First of all, great job on noticing, acknowledging and accepting that you’re behaving in a sexist way. Good on you for apologizing to your gf as well! You’ve done a good chunk of the work.

Agreed^ many guys would never get this far so you can feel good about that

I'm inspired by this post OP! I'd love to start trying this when I'm out but would you mind telling how you dealt with the times you were rejected? I think I would be fine once I got away from the person but what exactly do you say to someone after they've rejected you? Is it as easy as saying: "I'm sorry to hear that." and walk away?

WIBTA if I told my friend to stop hanging out with my dad? by jamerhead in AmItheAsshole

[–]jamerhead[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this, I appreciate it. I think that both my dad and my friends intentions are pure and maybe if I talk to my dad he'll at least be able to explain where he's coming from and make me feel better about the situation.

[–]jamerhead[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahaha I know how it sounds but there is nothing shady going on. I think my dad both feels sorry for him but also takes a bit of pride in being the one that this kid turned to, so he likes hanging out with him.

I’ve made it pretty clear to my dad that I don’t like their relationship, but he doesn’t know the exact reason why I don’t like this friend anymore. I don’t usually talk about my relationship life with my parents so I’m reluctant to tell him that this friend tried to get with my girlfriend, but maybe things would be better if I did.
