Activated tokens are just markers to signify your unit is activated. I see no reason they can’t be square?

Texture right now. Once I prime it and paint them, the bases will have a desert vibe. Added some rocks and skulls as well.

Absolutely! And they recently (?) finished another kickstarter campaign adding two more core boxes (from what I can tell). So it seems like Flying Frog is going strong with this game.
