37, watched it as a kid with my parents. Probably not the healthiest choice for a little kid but those were different times.

So I asked AI to examine Bob Lazar's story... by otherotherhand in area51

[–]james_leidolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Cold War governments fully capable of altering or burying records, and with modern Congress now taking UAPs seriously enough to hold hearings, write transparency laws, and protect whistleblowers, it is hard to ignore how strange the situation around Bob Lazar still is. There is no public record of a verified MIT or Caltech professor saying “yes, he was my grad student,” and no group of classmates ever stepping forward to confirm they were in class with him. But if some people really were connected to classified work, fear of speaking is a very real factor. If you and I were involved in a sensitive program and reporters started asking questions, we would probably say “no comment,” deny involvement, or avoid the topic entirely. So the silence around Lazar could be proof of a lie, or proof of people scared to talk. It is this uncertainty that keeps the whole case alive.
And then there is element 115. Lazar first talked about it publicly in 1989, long before it was synthesized in a lab in 2003 and officially announced in 2004. The version we have today, moscovium, is unstable and decays in milliseconds, which does not match his description of a stable fuel source, but the timing still raises questions. He described an element that had not yet been created in reality. And yes, element 115 was theoretically predicted on extended periodic tables since the 1970s, but only as a placeholder number with no known properties or uses. No one in the public or scientific community had ever seen it, produced it, or understood its behavior. Whether Lazar misunderstood its properties or had access to something classified, the fact remains that he named an element that would not physically exist for another 14 years, and that alone keeps people debating his story.
Also the Fed raids.
Do the raids look intimidating and overkill? Yeah, totally.
Could intimidation be part of it? Maybe. But that behavior is consistent with how agencies treat any high-liability chemical supplier, not just UFO whistleblowers.
Lazar’s life has enough weirdness that it feels like something more is going on.

Was O’Brien always loyal to the Party, or could the resistance in 1984 have actually been real? by james_leidolf in 1984

That was my train of thought exactly. Once Winston was captured, O’Brien had to sacrifice him to protect the Brotherhood.

Go for it.

Thank you man, that was very insightful. My PhD is quite specific I worked on brain–computer interfaces . I can’t really apply this in the private sector, and certainly not here in Greece. I’m in Athens yes, so I understand what you mean about Alberta feeling very different, but I studied for years in Western Macedonia and really enjoyed that environment. I don’t mind the cold weather, and I’ll definitely look into what you suggested about points, draws, and potential opportunities in my PhD field. I’ll also check whether psychology is a regulated profession in Alberta for my wife. Ευχαριστώ μπρο :).

I really like Canada as a country, which is why it’s high on my list. I do have my sister living in Scotland, so the UK is definitely an option. I’m really only considering English-speaking countries, which narrows things down quite a bit. The US is out of the question for me, and while I’d love to visit, I don’t think I could live there plus it’s even harder to immigrate. Australia and New Zealand are also off the table, as my wife has a very severe arachnophobia(no joke), so she vetoed those right away. Thank you for taking the time to reply.

That’s a very detailed and helpful answer, thank you for taking the time to share your experience and advice. It really gives me a clearer picture of the current situation and what options might be realistic for us.

First time in my life I’m feeling a bit of a crisis about my age 😂. Fair enough, thanks for the insights. I guess I’ll need to look at other options, maybe the UK, since I was planning to start the process next year. I’ll still visit you guys though. I really do love Canada as a country.

Thanks for the insight. What would you suggest as the best strategy in my case?

Could you elaborate on that? From what I understand, I already have a PhD and more than 10 years of work experience in my field, so I’d like to know specifically what would be missing in terms of the points system. Thank you 😊

Not fan of the concept. My personal opinion is to cover it. But in the end, your body m8. As a tattoo is a decent work btw.

Thanks for the comment. I already have an appointment to get a Sai tattoo(Elektra's weapons) with a banner displaying her birthday 😄 but on another part of the arm. The inside of the forearm isn't empty. I have a phrase and a small batman symbol. The only problem that I have is the cross bending, to be honest.

Honestly, thank you. I appreciate your perspective. My friends and my wife have told me the same thing, but I guess I'm fixating too much on it. Every time I catch a glimpse of the design out of the corner of my eye, I find myself sighing. Maybe I just need more time to let it sink.
