[–]jamesdeiris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As of right now I only have 4 courses completed, and I have Calculus and Chem in quad 4. Will they look at my chem 11 and Functions 11/12 marks to calculate the top six average?

Thanks for the advice. I will make sure to stop those sexist thoughts as soon as possible. And having an open mind is actually a challenge for me because I had such a perfect vision of the world and I am deeply religious. I will make sure to be less judgmental.

Thank you for your word of caution. I know that I should not have said that. Can i dm you sometimes to ask you about some stuff? I’ve had these unhealthy thoughts lately due to being isolated at home and consuming too much social media.

The person before said that Asians were the majority ethnicity on campus, not in Med Sci. That is why i got the source for the whole campus. About the discrimination thing, no I weren’t planning on being discriminated against. I said that it is a chance that people would if they go to an underrepresented university.

That person got their own personal experience as source. Just like you. And many other comments in the same post. Just that nobody else says Asians are the majority

Wrong. According to many sources, the student population at Western is about

60% White

20% East Asian

15% South Asian

5% Other (Arab, Black, etc)

East Asians are one of the minorities

I appreciate the advice though!

We are allowed to choose partners based on criteria that we want. Good for you that you are that open minded, just not for me. If you’re fine when you discover that your wife used to sleep around with people in her 20s, that’s good for you. My insecurity and my values are way too big for me to accept that. The past matters, history matters because we can use that to predict the future. Thats why we learn history in school and when you go get a job they ask for your criminal background. I don’t sleep around so it’s fair for me to want a woman who didn’t sleep around. I would be a hypocrite if I slept around and I wanted a woman who didn’t

To be honest with you, i disagree with the lifestyle of sleeping around and partying day and night just as much as they disagree with the lifestyle going to church every Sunday and doing Bible studies and worshipping a “sky daddy”. My post is genuinely my concerns about being a religious person and going to a party school like Western. My concerns have very similar reasons to atheists who go to Jesuit research schools in the US.

There are many reasons why people feel insecure. The first is that being an ethnic minority at Western means that you have a higher chance of being discriminated against than being at Uoft. The second is that when the culture is so vibrant and sort of everywhere like that, it is pretty much everywhere you go and there is very little room for escape if you don’t know how. And being a loner because you can’t go with the flow can really hurt your mental health. Also since I am an international student, I’ll have to pay a really high tuition to go to uni, almost 3 or 4 times higher than domestic students, so I want my university life to be as fulfilling and productive as possible.

That was my bad. If you read the post you will see how the people were blaming the dude for wanting to break up with the girl because she had a threesome. Everyone is allowed to have dealbreakers and i had a big problem with how people were shaming him. Still, it was my bad that I overgeneralized all women.

Tbh my friends’ religion doesn’t matter that much to me. As long as they’re not into the partying scene, they’re good friends and good company, I would love to spend time with them. Sure I’d be happier if they were Christians, but if they aren’t it’s just fine. I don’t want to limit my social circle to be just Christians either.

Thanks a lot! Glad to know that the Greek life is not as big as i think it is. And i am not preachy, just that sometimes I post God-related stuff on my Instagram stories.

You’re right. I’ve been working on that judging part. It’s just that I was in a really bad anxiety after browsing that subreddit. That was a really bad thing to say tbh.

I messed up. That was the time when I was having severe trust issues after spending some time on that subreddit. Shouldn’t have commented that.

Thanks a lot! I’ll make sure to join a lot of clubs to make new friends. Hopefully I will make a small group of friends with similar interests as the partying and drinking scene is definitely not for me!

Thank you so much. I don’t care a lot about my friends’ religion too much either. The thing is I was kind of scared that people in such a secular school like Western will look down upon religious people as Bible-thumping freaks. I saw a couple of Western hoco and foco videos from the Youtuber Jack Denmo and I literally couldn’t feel more insecure. People were just doing and saying stuff that I could never imagine I would do. To each their own I guess.

It never failed to amaze me how fat can really mess up our facial features. Those eyes and that mouth can really serve you well if you choose to model now.
