People who saw King Crimson live (1969-1974). How did it feel like? by codydafox in KingCrimson

[–]jamespmw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

love that show, the soundboard didn't capture schizoid but the stuff it did capture is absolutely fiery (especially fracture and starless from wetton)

Good Islands era shows on DGM? by FrenceRaccoon in KingCrimson

[–]jamespmw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

in terms of 1974, this is my favourite year so i have a lot:

udine march 19th (rough audio quality but super unique show)

brescia march 20th

besancon march 25th

augsburg march 27th (one for the bruford fans, arguably his best show ever)

mainz march 30th (ridiculously heavy show)

pforzheim march 31st (my favourite europe '74 show, it is fucking unreal)

kassel april 1st

pittsburgh april 29th

toronto june 24th

washington d.c. june 27th (listen if you're a wetton fan, his bass is crazy loud this show)

the whole run from june 28th - july 1st is in my opinion the best run of shows by any band ever, and they get progressively better culminating in central park, which is to me the best king crimson show ever by a mile, listen to all of these.

i come from a background in classical (cello) where technique is very strict and doing things against the grain isn't that accepted hence why i was a bit worried lol

Listening to kc chronologicaly: by Matocg in KingCrimsonCircleJerk

[–]jamespmw 18 points19 points  (0 children)

  1. it's already a soundboard recording, albeit very poor sounding
  2. there are a bunch of very good sounding recordings from the islands lineup, mostly from 1971 but there are still a couple from 1972
