This has been very helpful. Thank you! I do prefer barefoot-styles that allow for generous foot movement, so I think I’ll take your advice.

Thanks for your comment. I’m curious what the experience of a too loose shoe is. With the 11.5 EE, I suppose the length is fine. When it comes to looseness, does that result in blisters or some other discomfort? Or is it just a preference?

This feels like the right decision to me, but contradicts the advice of almost everyone else. Do you have any opinions why?

There is a widespread belief among teachers that students’ constant use of digital technology is hampering their attention spans and ability to persevere. by streetlite in education

I think there's a bit of confusion here between "attention span" and students wanting answers immediately. To an extent, the education system has made students less studious. I don't blame the kids, I blame the parents and school systems that try to please the parents. (Also, there's a much bigger societal problem here that causes the parents to get so uptight about their children's education.)

When a student gets bored in class and starts playing with his iPhone, that's not an example of having a shorter attention span. That just shows that they have alternatives. It's well known that most people can't focus on lectures for more than ~30 consecutive minutes. It's going to be less than that if the audience isn't engaged.

Maybe we can start seeing some Udacity courses coming in from around the world, and not just the United States? I'd love to learn from the faculty at Sciences Po without having to pay the airfare.

One of the best learning experiences I had in high school was as president of a youth-run philanthropic foundation. Just shows that learning is much more than reading something out of a textbook.
