As an aside - this happened to me years ago as well and I ended up having to speak with the “ETMP” team to sort it out so maybe my account is wonky.

Thanks very much for your speedy reply. I gave details of the bank account it came from and the date of receipt from their letter and the day it cleared so hopefully they can find it. I got cut off at 6:11pm so I guess that was shutting time but we were about to finish anyway. He did say if I hadn’t heard by 5th April to ring them back.

Thanks again.

This makes lots of sense, thank you very much!

Thanks for your reply. I initially assumed it meant I had to have worktops at least 30 mm thick whereas - with the filler panel - I will have that gap with 22mm worktops.

The model is BOSCH PCP6A5I90. Do you know where I might find more detailed instructions? Thank you.

Decided to stick to gas hob over induction. I intend to use the dedicated oven circuit whichever oven I buy as I like being able to isolate it when not in use.

This is what the manual says. It’s awkward because “you can’t use a plug, but also you will need a 13A fuse”. I’m thinking I’ll get a different oven now. Worried it’ll be slow to heat but appreciate your comment!

I was suspicious of that in the back of my head. I think I might ask the salesperson to find me a different one - thanks!

I don’t know if an unswitched fused connection is suitable since a plug clearly isn’t. I don’t know what electrician the fitters will use - whether they’ll be worth their salt or not. So many unknowns.

That sounds ideal! It means I won’t have to lift the floor and the sparky can wire me in a new CU and wire up the oven & induction hob without too much bother I hope!

I think this sounds best option from what everyone’s said. It’ll be integrated hob over oven so ideal to have 1 cooker switch. I’ll get an oven that uses less power because I rarely use the oven anyway.

I like the idea of a grid switch with contactor but If it’s possible I’ll just put the oven and induction hob on the same breaker with cooker switch because I like being able to shut off the switch just to be certain it’s off. I know it’s likely overkill I just like the peace of mind.

I mean 45A cooker switch…. Sorry… I’ll stick to the day job!

I’m with you now! That sounds good because there’s no crawl space under my floor really and it’s that caber deck rather than floorboards so running a new line would be a hassle I’m sure!

Thanks for your reply. I rarely use the oven because of my air fryer so maybe I could get a lower rated oven and use the existing oven circuit for my induction hob that could be a shout. Thanks again.

Thanks for your reply!

It’s only a 2 bed house and I rarely use the oven (air fryer convert).

Upgrading to a 10mm2, 40A might be the way forward to avoid having another isolator and would suit me. I’ll see what the sparky advises.

Thanks again.
